Organic Mattress

A mattress is the most personal and essential part of daily life. Needless to say that your bed is the most chosen place for you to relax. Besides, every human being requires a sufficient amount of sleep, and at that time, people are close to the surface of the mattress. So this is an essential product for your family, especially if there are babies.

Materials of the Mattresses

All the mattresses are usually made with foam and inner springs. The springs are covered with fillings and surrounded by the foam.

Innerspring mattresses are consist of spring. These springs are made of steel. The support or cushioning layer of these spring are covered by insulating material and fibre or foam. The materials for foam are polyurethane, latex or viscoelastic. The fibres are made of polyester, cotton, wool or non-woven. Other Foam mattresses are made of latex, polyurethane or high-density material.

Difference Between Organic Mattress and Usual Mattress

Organic mattress(or rather non-toxic mattress ) differ from the usual mattress because it uses organic padding and fabric around the inner springs. Organic materials are made from natural sap or organic latex. This is the part that makes the organic mattresses much safer and a wise choice for your family.

Because of the foam and insulating materials, the usual manufacturers use plenty of chemicals. These materials are used for strengthening the fibres. Also, it is compulsory to make these materials fire retardant. The fire retardant chemicals are volatile in nature. They emit residue like VOCs. These can be really harmful to human health, especially if you breathe near these substances.

More Reasons to Choose Organic Mattresses

Some people are allergic to synthetic material, but organic cotton is a hypoallergenic material, meaning that it has almost no possibility to cause an allergic reaction. Organic wool and latex are also hypoallergenic materials. Organically grown wool is free from chemical and pesticides, which cannot be said for natural materials like cotton and fibres. Mainly because while farming, they go under fertilizers and pesticides which can emit those chemicals even after several years of use.

Also, organic mattresses do not use any adhesive or any additional petroleum material that makes the fibres durable and fire retardant. Using cheap glue in the usual mattresses, really make them smelly. These particles can enter the human body and can damage kidneys and irritate the respiratory system. These compounds can cause detrimental effect for infants who sleep putting their heads close to the surface of the mattress. Children brain development can be damaged if they are exposed to volatile chemical compounds that adhesive material emits.

The Bottom Line

So we can easily say that using organic mattresses over usual mattresses is beneficial to health. Typical mattresses use different petrochemical compounds to make the mattresses less flammable, stiff and waterproof but are harmful to health. On the other hand, the organic mattresses have all these attributes naturally and do not possess any of the health hazards and are environment-friendly.

New year, new semester, not the same old thing. This semester will be a semester to redeem all the mistakes made in the previous five months.

1. I will wake up (sorta) on time for class.

Let's face it, last semester you woke up with enough time to brush your teeth and get to class and even then you were about 10 minutes late and rollin' in with some pretty unfortunate bed head. This semester we will set our alarms, wake up with time to get ready, and get to class on time!

And so it begins.

1. Walk in motivated and ready to rock

Camping out at the library is not for the faint of heart. You need to go in as a warrior. You usually have brought supplies (laptop, chargers, and textbooks) and sustenance (water, snacks, and blanket/sweatpants) since the battle will be for an undetermined length of time. Perhaps it is one assignment or perhaps it's four. You are motivated and prepared; you don’t doubt the assignment(s) will take time, but you know it couldn’t be that long.
