Patrick Bolton, 24, Small Business Owner

This hustler just seems to me like he is the good ole southern boy that is going to get a long with a lot of people. I don't think he will have the best social game, but people could be quick to discount him because of his personality. Patrick seems like a smart guy and he certainly seems like he knows the show, however he said that Joe is the Survivor that he relates to most. That really isn't what you want Patrick. Joe had to win or he was going home. You want to be able to put yourself in situations where you are going to be able to survive if you don't win Immunity. He also doesn't seem like he is going to be as strong as Joe. What is really going to hurt him honestly is that skin. He already is pretty burned in his interview and if he is not careful he might have some serious damage going on. Overall, people aren't really going to see Patrick as a threat and he will go deep. Prediction: Merge

Alexandrea "Ali" Elliot, 24, Celebrity Assistant

Ali is...interesting. She does seem to me though that she is the person that is going to be really over dramatic about everything. She is, after all, an assistant to a celebrity. She does say she can relate with a lot of different people based off prior experience. While that is a good thing, she also hasn't done it in the brutal conditions Survivor is about to put her in. In her bio, she says that one of the reasons she is doing it is just to see if she CAN do it. Based off her personality and what we know about her, this just screams Quit to me. She is going to go in a few days and realize that she just can't handle the elements and she is either going to fight with someone, cost the team a challenge and ask them to vote her out, or she is going to quit. I'm sure Ali is a nice person, but she just isn't cut out for this. Prediction: Pre-Merge

Simone Nguyen, 25, Diversity Advocate

I can't say I have ever heard "constructive confrontation" be used on Survivor before and for that reason is why Simone is going to struggle this season. She also comes across to me as someone that has things to planned out going into this game. Someone is going to throw a curve ball and she is going to be very upset about it not going her way. This will lead to a confrontation and she will be on the chopping block very early. She also is a Diversity Advocate, which is all fine and dandy, but usually speaking your politics on Survivor is never a good thing. It just makes things uncomfortable and people won't want to be around. She probably will be one of the first 3 out of the game and she is going to go out with a big bang. Prediction: Pre-Merge

Devon Pinto, 23, Surf Instructor

When I first saw Devon's photo, I sighed. To me he was the new Fabio. Granted Fabio won, it was not particularly my favorite game. Devon's bio continued to turn me off by saying things like he was going to win every single Immunity Challenge and he was going to win because everyone loved him. Again, sigh. Then I watched his video and did a 180. This guy really doesn't seem that dumb. He has his real estate license yet he is choosing to keep instructing surfers. He also says that he is going to play up his look a lot to make it look like he is dumb. This honestly is a pretty good strategy. He does need to tone it back in challenges though. If people start seeing him performing out of his mind, then he will be quick to go. However, he can stay longer if he just sticks behind the scenes and plays a subtle, yet powerful game. Prediction: Merge

The Great Christmas Movie Debate

"A Christmas Story" is the star on top of the tree.

The Great Christmas Movie Debate

One staple of the Christmas season is sitting around the television watching a Christmas movie with family and friends. But of the seemingly hundreds of movies, which one is the star on the tree? Some share stories of Santa to children ("Santa Claus Is Coming to Town"), others want to spread the Christmas joy to adults ("It's a Wonderful Life"), and a select few are made to get laughs ("Elf"). All good movies, but merely ornaments on the Christmas tree of the best movies. What tops the tree is a movie that bridges the gap between these three movies, and makes it a great watch for anyone who chooses to watch it. Enter the timeless Christmas classic, "A Christmas Story." Created in 1983, this movie holds the tradition of capturing both young and old eyes for 24 straight hours on its Christmas Day marathon. It gets the most coverage out of all holiday movies, but the sheer amount of times it's on television does not make it the greatest. Why is it,
then? A Christmas Story does not try to tell the tale of a Christmas miracle or use Christmas magic to move the story. What it does do though is tell the real story of Christmas. It is relatable and brings out the unmatched excitement of children on Christmas in everyone who watches. Every one becomes a child again when they watch "A Christmas Story."

It’s here; that time of year when college students turn into preschoolers again. We cry for our mothers, eat everything in sight, and whine when we don’t get our way. It’s finals, the dreaded time of the semester when we all realize we should have been paying attention in class instead of literally doing anything else but that. Everyone has to take them, and yes, unfortunately, they are inevitable. But just because they are here and inevitable does not mean they’re peaches and cream and full of rainbows. Surviving them is a must, and the following five phases are a reality for all majors from business to art, nursing to history.
