An article to all single pringles

February 14th is a day where significant others get together and spend the day together in a world of romance. Well, what about us single people? What are we supposed to do when we don't have anyone to spoil in chocolates and flowers? This is dedicated to all of us single pringles who have had to spend way too many Valentine's Days alone. Here's my four step advice on how to survive Valentine's Day without that special someone.

First: remember that it's not a bad thing that you are single. You just haven't met the right person yet, and that is totally fine. There is someone for everyone and you will find the right person one day and you will fall in love. Also, don't be afraid to mingle and possibly catch yourself a valentine. Who knows, maybe you will be walking into the nearest store for overpriced chocolate and bump into your very own special someone.

Second: if you're a single girl and reading this, I want you to call up your other single female friends and go out with them. Spending the day with your girls is usually a lot more fun than spending the day with a guy (no offense to the guys reading this). Put on a nice outfit and go out to dinner with a group of friends or stay in and order pizza while binge watching Netflix.

If you are a guy reading this and you are single, get together with some of your friends and do some manly things. You could play video games, basketball, football, whatever you men like to do in your spare time. Do something that will keep your mind off of being single and just go out and enjoy yourself.

Third: Girls, while spending quality time with your friends, don't forget that it's OK to be sad that you don't have a special someone. Shed some tears with your friends while eating over-priced chocolate and ice cream. Your friends are there to cheer you up or to cry with you. Crying your feelings out does make you feel better. It is perfectly OK to do this.

Guys, yes, I know that you aren't going to want to cry because you're single. While hanging with your boys, do something to keep your mind off of being single. You could go out for wing night and maybe have a beer or two (unless you're driving or under 21). Do something that makes you happy.

Finally, take advantage of the 70% off chocolate on February 15th because who doesn't love chocolate?

Take pride in being a single pringle and enjoy yourself this Valentine's Day. You are a strong, independent person and you know you can survive the day. Whether it's with your friends or even a pet, you will survive Valentine's Day.

New year, new semester, not the same old thing. This semester will be a semester to redeem all the mistakes made in the previous five months.

1. I will wake up (sorta) on time for class.

Let's face it, last semester you woke up with enough time to brush your teeth and get to class and even then you were about 10 minutes late and rollin' in with some pretty unfortunate bed head. This semester we will set our alarms, wake up with time to get ready, and get to class on time!

And so it begins.

1. Walk in motivated and ready to rock

Camping out at the library is not for the faint of heart. You need to go in as a warrior. You usually have brought supplies (laptop, chargers, and textbooks) and sustenance (water, snacks, and blanket/sweatpants) since the battle will be for an undetermined length of time. Perhaps it is one assignment or perhaps it's four. You are motivated and prepared; you don’t doubt the assignment(s) will take time, but you know it couldn’t be that long.
