With the end of the semester quickly approaching, students can find themselves starting to get ready for the break instead of getting ready for finals. There are several things we are guilty of doing during this time, whether you'd like to admit it or not. Here are a few tips to help you get through the last weeks of class.

1. Don't skip class!

While this should be implied, it gets very tempting to skip a few of your last classes. There are many last minute assignments that are due during this time and the professors can still teach material for the final.

2. Stop procrastinating now.

Now is not the time to get behind. Stop procrastinating and get everything done so you have time to relax instead of trying to do all your assignments at once.

3. Don't count down the days.

Counting down the days is going to torture you. Not only is there a five-week break, but there is also the excitement of Christmas and New Years. The end of the semester will be here soon enough.

4. Work harder on assignments.

Don't let the end of the semester excitement cause your grades to slip last minute. Finish with your best work and keep the grades you have worked hard for all semester.

5. Prioritize your classes and assignments.

If you know you have a hard assignment or final, don't wait until the last minute to focus on it. Prioritize your classes and assignments so you have the time you need for each of them.

6. Don't get overwhelmed.

The stress of final assignments and final exams is more than enough to have you overwhelmed. Don't let it get to you.

7. Actually study for your finals.

Take the time you need to study for your finals. Trying to cram all the information last minute is never a good idea.

8. Remember to sleep.

With everything else going on, you may be staying up later than you normally would. Don't let everything else affect your sleep schedule.

9. Make time for friends.

There is a lot going on during the last weeks, but don't forget about your friends. You may not see them again until you come back for the spring semester.

10. Relax, have fun and finish strong.

Don't let everything get to you. Have a balance of fun and study time to finish out the semester.

7 Ways to Make Your Language More Transgender and Nonbinary Inclusive

With more people becoming aware of transgender and non-binary people, there have been a lot of questions circulating online and elsewhere about how to be more inclusive. Language is very important in making a space safer for trans and non-binary individuals. With language, there is an established and built-in measure of whether a place could be safe or unsafe. If the wrong language is used, the place is unsafe and shows a lack of education on trans and non-binary issues. With the right language and education, there can be more safe spaces for trans and non-binary people to exist without feeling the need to hide their identities or feel threatened for merely existing.

Blair Waldorf
Stop Hollywood

For those of you who have watched "Gossip Girl" before (and maybe more than just once), you know how important of a character Blair Waldorf is. Without Blair, the show doesn’t have any substance, scheme, or drama. Although the beginning of the show started off with Blair’s best friend Serena returning from boarding school, there just simply is no plot without Blair. With that being said, Blair’s presence in the show in much more complex than that. Her independent and go-getter ways have set an example for "Gossip Girl" fans since the show started and has not ended even years after the show ended. Blair never needed another person to define who she was and she certainly didn’t need a man to do that for her. When she envisioned a goal, she sought after it, and took it. This is why Blair’s demeanor encompasses strong women like her.
