Summer is almost here. There is so much anticipation. We dream about sunshine, days on the lake, and ice cream cones. However, for college students, it seems like time doesn't pass during that last week of finals.

It is possible to survive that last week before summer with a couple of certain tips.

Studying outside is a great way to step into the summer season while still being able to get work done. We don't have to worry about cold weather or the wind bringing in a storm. The sun is out for a longer period of time. Therefore, we can be out longer because the sun is better.

Take study breaks that involve being outside. Take a run or walk around the block. There is no reason to stay inside unless you are sick. You now can ride your bike around all you want; don't take the car. The bike has been sitting away for a while. Take it out and go bike riding all over town.

Running to get ice cream is also an idea. It is the season for those frozen treats so start eating them before you turn in your final exam.

Open up the windows. Let the summer breeze flow through the apartment. Let it clear out the stuffiness and bring in the smell of fresh flowers and newly mowed grass. Don't be afraid to bring in some of the flowers into the house. They can make everything light up, even when you are frustrated with that last paper.

Turn up the music. Summertime hits remind us of the lake, beach, and family picnics. It can remind us of all the fun times that summer will bring while allowing us to block out all of the other noises from around us. These popular songs are also very catchy which allow us to have a better mood as we study for the finals.

Finals are long and tedious. There are times when we wish that we could just ignore them and dive right into summer. While that is not possible, it is possible to help the time pass faster.

11 Things Summer Nannies Can Relate To

There are plenty of obstacles that come when taking care of kids, but it's a very rewarding experience.

As a college student, being a nanny over the summer is both enjoyable and challenging. Underneath the seemingly perfect trips to the pool or countless hours spent playing Monopoly are the obstacles that only nannies will understand. Trading in your valuable summer vacation in return for three months spent with a few children less than half your age may seem unappealing, but so many moments make it rewarding. For my fellow summer nannies out there, I know you can relate.

There are a lot of really easy, common names in the U.S. and while many of those simple names have different spellings, most of the time, pronunciation is not an issue that those people need to worry about. However, others are not as fortunate and often times give up on corrections after a while. We usually give an A+ for effort. So, as you could probably imagine, there are a few struggles with having a name that isn’t technically English. Here are just a few…
