Many people love screaming at movie screens whenever characters make bad decisions, and those bad decisions are abundant in horror films. While realistically we all know that without the bad choices there would be no movie, we can’t help but think of how we would do things differently if we were there. So, in light of this, I put together a list of ways to survive during a horror movie.
- The easiest way to survive, of course, would be to not go to sketchy places. If someone suggests you go to investigate anything, say no. Just don’t go, and stay alive and unharmed.
- Don’t go places unarmed. If you don’t know what you might encounter, at least have a gun or a knife on hand to provide extra insurance.
- Never, ever, split up. Divide and conquer is not your friend during a horror movie. It is an almost sure way to get yourself killed. Either you will be picked off one by one, or one of the group will become compromised and will attack you when your guards down.
- Call the police before you need them. It would definitely be easier if they were already there to help you than struggling to call them while running for your life.
- Think calmly. Try not to panic and make rash decisions. Panic will only cause you to worsen your situation. I know that it’s hard, but it will only hurt you in the end.
- Don’t antagonize anyone. The more trouble you cause, the worse off your situation will be. Do not taunt, yell at, insult, etc. DO NOT.
- Never let yourself be led away from where you are. If they are trying to take you to a different location, it’s so they can do something much worse to you.
I hope these tips help you in your next horror movie moment!
