With weekend one coming to a close and weekend two coming up in a few days, here are just a few tips for any of you Coachella-goers.

1. Basics: Water & Sunscreen

As I am sure many & most of us are aware, sunscreen & water are two HUGE necessities when venturing out to Coachella. Indio is known to be in the 90’s to 100’s and can get pretty sweltering around festival season. To ensure your skin from burning apply sunscreen before heading to the festival & also bring an extra tube or two. However, if you are bringing sunscreen in to the festival make sure it is a new, sealed bottle or security will make you throw it away before entry. For water, make sure to know where the water stations are located around the grounds before heading into the crowds &, if you want to save money on bottles, bring a container of your own for water. Dehydration is a very real issue in this type of heat, especially when dancing for hours. The most convenient way of carrying water seems to be using a water backpack, such as a Camelbak, but if you don't have one, a plastic reusable bottle will work just as well.

2. Bandanas

Though worn usually as a fashion statement, bandanas have a few other purposes for anyone at Coachella. Being in the desert, a lot of dust & debris is kicked up & blown around the grounds, getting into people’s mouths, eyes, & lungs. Wearing a bandana around your face could prevent dust from getting in to your mouth, eyes, & nose. Bandanas also can be used to cool people down in the beating sun. Wetting the bandana and wrapping it around your neck or head acts as a quick refresher for anyone who is overheating. Not only do bandanas add some color to your outfit, but they are a smart accessory for anyone heading in to the desert to party.

3. Chill Out & Be Happy

Finally, chill out! Everyone will get in to the festival eventually, don’t push in line. The weekend is long, space out your resting, eating, & alcohol consumption; going hard is fun, but going too hard can turn the entire weekend around. If you miss a performer you wanted to really see, don't sweat it; there are tons of other people who will wow you just as much. And lastly, remember everyone is there to have fun just the same as you. Be positive, be happy, & be open-minded to the people around you. Coachella is an experience, chill out & go with the flow, you wont be disappointed.

To everyone at Coachella this weekend, please be safe & have an amazing time! I wish I could be there with you all.

On the Upper East Side, Blair Waldorf is an icon. She's what every girl aspires to be. She's beautiful, confident, and can handle any obstacle that life throws at her. Sure, she may just be a television character. But for me, she's a role model and theres a lot that can be learned from Queen B.

The Perks of Being a Girl

“I just want you to know that you’re very special… and the only reason I’m telling you is that I don’t know if anyone else ever has.”

As frustrating and annoying as it can be, being a girl is really awesome. We are beautiful inside and out. Not a lot of people may see that, but girls have a ton of amazing qualities.

We have unique flirting skills.

Us girls have a significant way to flirt with other people. Even when we say the most random or awkward things, we have a way of making everything sound cute and planned. It’s just a gift; we’re good like that.

We Heart It

Over the past decade, television has undergone a very crucial transition: the incorporation of female lead characters. Since it's a known fact that girls actually do run the world (Beyonce said so herself), it's time for the leading ladies of the small screen to get some credit. Without these characters, women would still be sitting in the background of our favorite shows. These women are not only trailblazers for female empowerment, but role models for women worldwide. With that, here are 15 of the smartest, sassiest ladies gracing our screens that remind us that women do, indeed, rule:

If you are like me, you have an interesting personality. Basically, you love to be sassy and snarky, gossip, and act like a total bitch (not really), but deep down, you are actually a very genuinely nice person. The idea of actually hurting someone truly makes you feel bad, and you probably have never actually hurt someone’s feelings because your kindness always shines through, even if you do not want it to. Not sure exactly what I would call this type of personality, but if you identify with it, here are some feelings you can undoubtedly relate to.
