As broke college students, we are always looking for anything free we can get our hands on, and I mean anything. So when I came across an app that rewards me for shopping at my favorite stores, I thought, well, this cannot be real. Want to score FREE gift cards to all your favorite stores? Download SurveyMini. Right Now. This app tracks your location and conducts short surveys (no more than 11 questions) after you are done shopping. No joke the surveys are so fast that they take me all the time from walking out of the store to getting in my car in the parking lot. The surveys ask simple questions on how satisfied/dissatisfied you were with your shopping experience in that specific store.
After you complete the survey, which takes approximately one whole minute, you earn points for your “wallet”. Once you have enough points, you can redeem them for $10, $25, and $50 gift cards, depending on how many points you have. Yes, I received a FREE $25 gift card for Victoria’s Secret for completing these simple surveys. Other stores that partake in the gift card rewards include Ruby Tuesday’s, Home Goods, Olive Garden, Bath & Body Works, and even Burger King.
Don't let them fool you though, you only get between 100 and 500 points to redeem for every survey and more than likely the surveys are only 100 points. With the $25 gift cards being 12,000 points, it takes a whole lot of surveys to have enough points to redeem. Although I love receiving free gift cards, I do not appreciate the amount of surveys (and months) it takes me to get enough points. I mean, who wants to complete hundreds of surveys over a span of months for only one gift card?
My advice to the SurveyMini app: Up the amount of points per survey or lower the amount of points necessary to redeem a gift card.
