We all know that getting gifts for your significant other on Valentine’s Day can be extremely ridiculous. With this in mind, 100 people were asked what they would most like to receive for Valentine’s Day. They responded with 5, well really 6, different answers.
1) Chocolate
The number one answer that I received from this survey was chocolate. There was no specification as to which chocolate they would like and so I shall assume they just want generic chocolate. You can never go wrong with the Russell Stover chocolate boxes.
2) Food
The second highest answer was food. Many suggest going out the day after Valentine’s Day and enjoying the lower priced food. Others just want things like the *amazing* chicken mini tray from Chick-fil-a. Food, we all know, is the best way to someone’s heart or well, their stomach at least.
3) Heartfelt Time
To me, this is important all the time but even more so on Valentine’s Day. The third answer that the survey received was quality time. Your significant other is dating you for a reason. They probably really enjoy just being in your presence. However, aside from just having “cuddle time”, you can also take the time to plan out a fun date, write a thoughtful card, or even show them how much you love them through song. If Disney can do it, we can do it!
4) Flowers
Some people think that this one should be higher on the list but, it seems a bit cliché at times. The fourth response was flowers. Again, not too many people were specific on types but the majority of those asked suggested roses. Personally, I would like to receive carnations since they are more original than the typical roses. If you want to get your significant other roses, by all means do but try to make it special. Red roses seem to be unoriginal. Change the colors of the leaves by placing them in colored water. If you’re really talented, you can get it to swirl.
5) Stuffed Animals and Staying Single
Lastly, these two items were tied. Stuffed animals are wanted by pretty much everyone no matter your age. Build-a-Bear has influenced us all and is surprisingly found to be rather meaningful. Unless your significant other says otherwise, I would avoid the giant stuffed animals. Or you may have a romantic plan involving them. In that case, go ahead. Some people just want to stay single and alone on Valentine’s Day. They take their freedom very seriously and want it to stay that way. I have spent many a year with my grandmother as my valentine and, I love her very much but, I think it would be nice to get something from someone I am not related to.
Stay safe this Valentine’s Day and remember that love is what this holiday is about. Valentine’s Day doesn’t define who you are as a person and it shouldn’t be where you focus all your energy. Everyone is beautiful and everyone is loved.
