Ah, "Supernatural;" my absolute favorite show on earth. I could go on and on and on about all the reasons why this should be your new favorite show. Seriously, there is no end to the reasons I could give. But that would take forever, so you and I will have to settle for this non-comprehensive list of why you should start watching "Supernatural" ASAP. Bonus: it's on Netflix, so binge away! It's twelve seasons long, so there's lots of catching up to do.
You Should Watch "Supernatural" For:
1. This Guy
Dean MF Winchester, ladies and gentlemen. One of the two protagonists, he and his younger brother travel the country hunting supernatural evil creatures and saving people, the family business.
2. And This Guy
Sam Winchester, of the dimples and puppy dog eyes. He is the younger half of the Winchester duo and often acts as the brains of the operations with his extensive knowledge of supernatural creatures.
3. And Also This Guy
Castiel is a fallen angel and a central character after his introduction. He assists the boys in their hunts, and for a few seasons is generally clueless as to proper human etiquette. It's adorable.
4. Baby
The soul and mascot of the show, a gorgeous 1967 Chevy Impala, passed down to the boys from their father John. She is Dean's pride and joy.
5. The Bromance
The brothers share an incredibly close bond, and many episodes center around one of them sacrificing himself to save the other. This leads to many deaths, and dubious deals with demons.
6. The Music
The show has a great soundtrack of big-hair bands and classic rock tunes that will satisfy any rock enthusiast or casual fan. (He's playing "Eye of the Tiger." This is from the blooper reel.)
7. The Witty One-Liners
Dean has a quick tongue and a quicker wit, and he doesn't hesitate to taunt the bad guys every chance he gets. It often gets him into trouble he could avoid, but he hasn't learned his lesson yet.
8. The Demons Are Hot
Ruby is one of the first recurring demons to appear in the show, and all of her human hosts are easy on the eyes. So are all the rest of the demons that cross blades with the Winchesters.
9. The Angels Are Hotter
There are a multitude of beautiful angels to enjoy as well. Sidenote: Castiel's wings aren't usually visible, so enjoy the rare chance to see them.
10. The Battles
Even though the brothers are willing to die for each other, they still have their squabbles now and again. Plus, chances are one of them is possessed during the fight. When they aren't fighting each other, they are taking on angels, demons, ghouls, vampires, and the like, and the clashes are epic.
11. The Possessions
Everyone is at risk of possession basically at any moment, despite the protective tattoos the boys have for a few seasons. Generally, black eyes indicate possession, although in season one they hunt a demon with distinctive yellow eyes.
12. The Deaths
In a show about hunting evil, it's no surprise that there are a lot of deaths. Even the brothers aren't safe from Death's cold hands.
13. The Resurrections
It also stands to reason, that in a show about the supernatural there is bound to be a resurrection or two. Or four. Or more. Thank heavens, because where would a show be without its main characters?
14. The Laughter
The Winchesters lead a hard life, so every smile is like a ray of sunshine in a never-ending storm, something to be treasured. And what heart-melting smiles they are.
15. The Tears
So heartbreaking. Tears from Sam and Dean have a way of bringing your heart to its knees, and turning your eyes into water fountains.
16. The Love of Pie
Dean loves pie, and it's adorable. 'Nuff said.
17. The Bloopers
There are so many good bloopers that I had time choosing which one I wanted to use here! The chemistry on set is amazing, and leads to many, many hours of hilarious antics.
I hope you've enjoyed this peek into my little "Supernatural" world. Now go watch episode one!
