Last weekend a friend and I saw Wonder Woman. Even though I heard it was good I wasn't sure if i was going to like it. Was it going to be some horrible female empowerment film that doesn't really empower women at all? No, it was amazing. It was so refreshing to watch a movie like that. Having a heroine like Wonder Woman is almost unheard of in movies. She was badass in every way. She wasn't just a kickass fighter; she has power, grace, and beauty.
Captain Steve Trevor was another great character. I was concerned that they were going to make him a weak character that just swoons over Wonder Woman (like how it goes in most movie where the guy is the hero and the girl just can't help but fall in love with him). To my relief he wasn't. He was a very well rounded character that in someways was much like Wonder Woman, making their romance so much more believable. He and Wonder Woman worked so well together. Captain Trevor and his romance with Wonder Woman was another refreshing factor in the movie. Also I don't blame him for saying he was above average for a man when Wonder Woman asked if all men were like him, because what guy wouldn't say that when a hot girl asks him that kind of question.
Wonder Woman was portrayed by Israeli actress Gal Gadot, who is absolutely gorgeous. In my opinion, Gal was a perfect match to play such a character like Wonder Woman. Gal served in the Israeli Defense Force for two years already making her a certified badass. It's actually sad that she gets so much heat for being a soldier, I think its what made her such a great fit to play Wonder Woman. I don't think playing Wonder Woman was very hard for her, because she is already everything Wonder Woman is.
If you haven't seen this movie yet go see it now before its too late. Movies like this don't come around very often.
