Millions tune in to watch the most highly anticipated and most watched television event of the year. The anticipation. The suspense. I can barely wait, eager to participate in America's favorite Sunday of the year. Everyone get ready to put your favorite jersey on because it's almost here! The Super Bowl.
First, you wake up and put on your favorite jersey. You paint your face and put on those crazy neon socks or hat and get ready to go. Team spirit is a must for this epic game day.
Then you quickly go to the food store to buy balloons and you might as well buy some more nachos, wings, beer, burgers, chips, cookies and cakes because is there even such thing as one too many cakes with both teams customized in icing with a football stadium and an exquisite drawing of helmets and celebration?
You go back home and everyone comes over or you head to your friends or families houses and you start to argue over who will win. Some place bets, others just ramble on for hours.
The game starts. It is insane. So much hype. One of my favorite parts are the absolute best commercials that are crazy funny and awesome. Like last years absurdly awkward and hysterically funny "Puppy Monkey Baby" mountain dew commercial that made everyone fall to the floor laughing. In my opinion the commercials are probably the reason why there are so many viewers. How about that vintage throwback Coca-cola "Mean Joe Green" Pittsburgh Steelers commercial, come on what's not to like about that!?!?
You eat, have fun with friends, and basically spend the entire night yelling at the tv, thinking the refs can hear you when in your mind you know you're right and they made a bad call, and await to see the winner.
If your team won you probably sprint out of the house with pots and pans and noisemakers shouting and crying of joy. If your team lost you’ll be depressed for weeks and that’s just how it goes. It’s much more than just another Sunday night football game.
The beauty of the Super Bowl is that everyone participates and unites. No matter your age, even if you’re a baby, your parents dress you up in a cute little jersey and you sit and watch too. Everyone celebrates in the end, and there is so much leading up to it. There is something for everyone to enjoy from just eating good food (me) to actually watching the game.
