Super Bowl 50 is going to be a battle of two heavyweights. The Denver Broncos will face the Carolina Panthers for the Super Bowl 50 title on February 7th in Santa Clara, California. Both of the teams are the number one seeds in their respected divisions, so it should be a highly entertaining matchup. Carolina will be looking to win its first Super Bowl in franchise history while Denver will be looking to win its 3rd Super Bowl. Denver won its last Super Bowl in 1998 when the Broncos defeated the Atlanta Falcons 34-19 in Super Bowl 33.
Denver is coming into the game after an exciting 20-18 win against the New England Patriots. In the AFC Divisional round the week before, the Broncos defeated the Pittsburgh Steelers by a score of 23-16. Denver has not been dominant in the games they gave won, but they got the job done to get to the Super Bowl. If Dever wants to defeat Carolina, they will need to bring their A-game. Denver boasts, arguably, the best defense in the NFL. Their offensive line will have to look to protect Peyton Manning as well, as the Panthers have one of the top defenses in the NFL. Peyton Manning will be looking to win his second Super Bowl. Manning is a future hall-of-famer, and winning another Super Bowl could cement his legacy as one of the best quarterbacks to ever play the game. this could possibly be the last game of Manning's NFL career, so he could ride off into the sunset after the game if he wins.
Carolina has been dominant this season. They are coming into the Super Bowl having lost only one game all season. That game was lost 20-13, during week 16 of the season, when they went on the road to face the Atlanta Falcons. Carolina is favored to win Super Bowl 50; to get to the Super Bowl, they defeated the Seattle Seahawks and demolished the Arizona Cardinals. In the past, Carolina was known as a team that had a dominant defense and a sub-par offense. But presently, that is not the case. Carolina's offense is just as dynamic as their defense, which, by and large, is due the success of their quarterback, Cam Newton. Newton has been on a tear all season and has shown himself to be a true leader of his team. Denver will have to slow Newton down to have any chance of winning the game.
