The game is set and we're all ready to watch the showdown. The historic 50th anniversary of the most anticipated football game of the year is once again upon us. One of the most beloved sports of our country is setting the stage for its biggest event, as the Denver Broncos take on the Carolina Panthers.
Even those who don't follow the NFL or watch all the games every week are still going to want to tune in. This year's Super Bowl -- Super Bowl 50 -- will literally be a game of the ages. Going into this game, Peyton Manning (the quarterback of the Broncos and one of the best quarterbacks the game has seen), will be the oldest quarterback to play in the Super Bowl. His is 39 years old, and is only about a month and half away from turning 40.
Cam Newton, the quarterback for the Panthers, on the other hand, is still fresh and new at only 26 years old.
The hardened, veteran quarterbacks of the NFL, like Manning, and others like New England Patriots' Tom Brady, have proven their worth and have set their names in stone as some of the best of all time. Young faces, such as Newton's, are the exciting and upcoming faces of the NFL.
This year's match-up of old versus new will be one for the books.
This couldn't be more true with the prospect that this could be the last go-round for Manning. He could possibly be retiring after this game.
After the Bronco's victory over the New England Patriots for the AFC Championship, camera's caught a comment Manning said to Bill Belichick, the head coach of the Patriots.
"Hey, listen, this might be my last rodeo. So it sure has been a pleasure," Manning said. Should Manning win or lose, his legacy will still carry on.
So, which side are you taking? Do you want Manning to go out like every professional sports player dreams of doing -- with a championship? Or do you want the red-hot Panthers to end their amazing season with a trophy and some new jewelry?
We will find out who brings it all home on Super Bowl Sunday.
