Sometimes Christmas isn't all that it's cracked up to be. Especially if you have Pinterest-worthy expectations like I do. Here are some Christmas expectations vs. realities:
Snow
Expectation: A white Christmas.
Reality: Brown slush.
Clothing
Expectation: Warm, cute layered outfits.
Reality: Looking like the abominable snowman.
Hair/Makeup
Expectation: Perfect hair, flawless makeup, rosy cheeks.
Reality: Static-y hair and a red face covered in melted snow.
Shopping
Expectation: Everyone tells you what they want.Reality: Last minute shopping disaster.
Going Outside
Expectation: Beautiful snow-covered scenery, hot cocoa in hand.
Reality: Freezing to death outside.
Christmas Parties
Expectation: Beautiful, classy event.
Reality: Weird party with your parent's friends and they're all drunk and have old, senior style clothing.
Christmas Tree
Expectation: six-foot tree.
Reality: Free (from backyard), scraggly, knee-high Charlie Brown tree.
Christmas Ornaments
Expectation: Pinterest-perfect tree.
Reality: Takes three hours to set up, and winds up looking ugly.
