Going to the gym shouldn't always be about working on the buns. Only focusing on how your body is changing while working out can become negative. Obsessing over improving your body forces you to pick apart your least favorite features. Next time you're at the gym or need motivation to get there, keep these benefits of exercise in mind.

1. Stress reliever.

You'll be too focused on your burning lungs to worry about all the homework you have due the next day.

2. Immune booster.

When the campus plague comes around, you want to do everything you can to not be that kid coughing and sneezing during class.

3. Stronger bones.

Increased muscle tone thickens bones and therefore makes them stronger. You'll thank yourself in 40 years when you're still able to climb onto the bar.

4. It makes you happy.

Endorphins aren't a myth. Exercise has been proven to lift moods and fight mental illness.

5. Makes you smarter.

Exercise improves cognitive ability and memory. Let's face it, our GPAs could use a little help from exercise. Getting on the treadmill will be worth it when you're more focused on your test.

6. Hot bods all around.

Honestly, coming to the gym is a great opportunity to low key check out some hot bods.

7. New outfits.

Wearing match-y gym outfits feels so good. A new outfit can give you so much confidence when trying to pretend to know what you're doing during your workout.

8. Better singing.

Exercising improves lung capacity. You'll be able to hold your breath for longer and really hit those high notes in the shower.

9. Walking to class.

Arriving just a little too sweaty because of those unavoidable hills is getting kind of redundant, don't you think?

10. Strength.

You never know when some added strength will come in handy. The next time your friend can't make it home, you can say no problem and practically carry your pal home.

11. Endurance.

It's Friday night, you've been dancing all night long, and you show no sign of stopping because you've been doing cardio.

12. Great excuse.

Yeah, no, sorry -- can't do that thing I really want to do; I have to go workout.

13. You vs. you.

Inside the gym, your only competitor is yourself. Seeing yourself getting faster and stronger by beating personal records makes working out extremely rewarding. Lifting heavier weights and running faster are two tangible marks showing your hard work payed off.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
