During middle and high school, I did theater outside and inside of school. It's definitely something that I love, and I'm sure there are other people out there that love it just as much or even more. Here is 12 signs you know that you are a theater kid.

1. You own a whole bunch of show shirts

For every musical you've ever been in—there's a show shirt, for every show you've seen—you get a shirt, especially if it's Broadway. And basically, every time you see a shirt about Broadway or musical theater online, you just have to get it. Basically, you own a lot of show shirts.

2. You have more nerves waiting for the cast list to come out than during auditions

Once you know your songs and your monologues and you know you're going to nail the dance audition, auditions really aren't that bad. Especially if you've worked with the directors before, such as at your school musicals. The problem is waiting for them to put up the cast list because even if you think you did well, other people did well too. So you're just sitting there waiting for an email and it can make a day feel like a week.

3. When you watch an old shows on DVD

Every memory of every moment of the show comes back, and you get emotional because you just want to go back and experience it all over again.

4. When another school does the same musical as your school

Once this happens it seems like it's the school's goal to be better than the other schools and during every rehearsal you're just thinking, "Wow, we are so much better than them."

5. Early is on time, on time is late, late is unacceptable

You know that if you're late to a rehearsal and you didn't tell your director beforehand or you don't have a good reason... well... hopefully the cast prayed for you.

6. Starbucks runs

During any show, Starbucks becomes your new best friend, and if you even have the slightest sore throat, you're going to be drinking tea for the next week and a half.

7. Most of your music library is show tunes

Once you get obsessed with a show, you have to buy the whole album. And once you know all of that musical, another musical has come out, so then you get obsessed with that and then you have to buy that album—it's a never ending cycle.

8. When you get homework/projects/papers during tech week

Oh dear, teachers, I hope you understand that none of this is going to get done, maybe next week.

9. When you hear someone in the cast that's flat

You all know that one person that made it into the chorus somehow but they're always flat and everyone can tell but them. You don't want to be rude, so you just wait for the director to say something and for the meantime, you just try to sing louder so you drown them out.

10. Singing all the time and harmonizing with anything and anyone

Basically, if you're a theater kid you never, ever stop singing and if you're with other theater kids, you harmonize with each other; it just happens. All of a sudden the song you're singing is in 5 part harmony.

11. You have two groups of friends—theater friends and other friends

The theater friend group is the one you can sing with and take acting classes with and talk about show tunes all day. Whereas, the other group you've met at school or other non-theater places and you go to the mall and do normal stuff with and you try your hardest not to sing or bring up musical theater references cause you know they won't get it.

12. The paper plate awards

At the end of the show and during the cast party you know there's going to be paper plate awards, and you hope that you did something funny enough or you were just awesome enough to get a good award.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
