Why Sunny San Diego Is The Perfect Place To Be
California Dream Big

Whether you’re looking for a new home, or the dream vacation spot for your family, San Diego, California will definitely exceed your expectations.

Now, you might be thinking, “Why should I trust someone who was born and raised in San Diego? You don’t know any better.” Well, fun fact- I wasn’t. I was born in Maryland and I've visited many other places such as Arizona, San Francisco, New York, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Colorado, Nevada, etc. But nothing has beaten the infamous sunny San Diego.

At this point, you must be dying to hear why San Diego is the place to be? Well, I’m about to tell you.

1. The beautiful blue ocean.

You can never get tired of driving down highway 101, windows down, blasting Hannah Montana with your best friends, admiring the beautiful blue ocean at fingers reach. Whether it’s July or December, the beach is always the place to go to and the best part is, it’s only a short drive away.

2. The weather.

65 degrees and sunny? You bet it is. San Diego is one of the few places in the United States to have literally perfect weather year round. You mean I could wear shorts in the wintertime? I won’t have to defrost my car in the morning? I could go to the beach in December? Yes, yes and yes. San Diego does an excellent job at keeping its people warm and tan.

3. The Mexican food.

Ever hear of the infamous California Burrito? It originated in San Diego. Okay, maybe not, but in San Diego, you’re bound to find the best Mexican food around, other than Mexico of course. There’s a benefit from being thirty minutes from the border. So if you’re a Mexican food lover like myself, San Diego is the place for you.

4. Seafood.

Oh, you thought we only had good Mexican food? Wrong. Seafood is also a very popular dish down here in SD. Because you’ll find that you’re always minutes from the ocean, seafood in San Diego is fresh and definitely tasty.

5. The vibe.

You won’t find a place more relaxing and chill than sunny San Diego. I can almost promise you that you’ll wake up with a smile on your face almost every day that you’re here. The warm weather, the yummy food and the chill atmosphere of San Diego sets it apart from a lot of other places in the country.

6. The people.

I’ve never met more genuine people than my time spent in San Diego. Unlike a lot of other places in the world, San Diegans are just happy people. I know that sounds a little cliché, but, hey, it’s true. Waking up to the fresh, salty scent of the ocean air every morning, knowing that your day will be full of sunshine, really does change a person. San Diegans care and look out for each other, and if you’re looking to make a friend, San Diego is the place to be. There’s a place for everyone here, you’ll never have to work hard to fit in. We believe in diversity and acceptance, and that’s one of the things I really admire about San Diego.

7. The attractions.

San Diego has literally everything you could ask for, except maybe Disneyland (but we’re really not that far from that, either). There is always something new and exciting to do here, and the best part is, it’s never far from your home. We’ve got SeaWorld, Legoland, the Air and Space Museum, the Del Mar Fair, the Del Mar Horse Races, the San Diego Zoo, the USS Midway Museum, the Birch Aquarium, Hotel Del Coronado, and the list goes on. But you’re gonna have to come down here yourself if you wanna find out more.

8. Shopping.

San Diegans know how to shop. That’s one thing we are really really good at. San Diego is full of cool and unique boutiques and stores, where you can find unique pieces you couldn’t find anywhere else.

9. The beaches.

San Diego has the BEST beaches around. From Oceanside, to Carlsbad, Encinitas, Del Mar, La Jolla, and etc. You won’t find more beautiful beaches that down in San Diego. La Jolla shores, for instance, isn’t just perfect for laying out and tanning but it is known for its tide pools and more importantly a community of seals that are just waiting to say hi.

10. Sunsets.

Wow. That’s all I have to say. You haven’t experienced a sunset until you’ve experienced a San Diego sunset. I’m just going to leave it at that.

So, tell me, have I sold you yet? San Diego never fails to amaze me each and every day that I live here. It really is the best place to be.

Hope to see you around! ;-)

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

April Ludgate

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
