It's Sunday morning and birds are chirping.
Most people are still sleep from the wild party the night before, but there are others who are up and on the move. These are the ones who are going to a place of Worship, to gain their weekly uplift. For the past five or so years, I have been absent from any place of worship. Mainly because I stop following religion itself, however, I do still believe in a higher power or a God.
Two months ago, I began attending church again. Upon my reentrance into a place of religion, I found that however flawed the organization of religion may be, there is something for everyone to learn from consistently going to church. Even if you don’t believe in a higher power, what you can gain from going to church can change your life for the better.
I was going through a lot in my life and a friend told me to go to church and that’s how I ended up there after five years of sleeping in on Sunday's.
The first day I went, I felt empowered. The pastor read and interpreted stories from The Bible that could relate to many things. For me, he was speaking the story of my life and his words really helped me get through a hard time in my life. Right now I am faced with homelessness, but after going to church and hearing the word I feel better and I am moving forward stronger than ever. I would have not been to a place of worship its never to late, the time is now, just go!
What would you be doing on a Sunday morning anyway? My issue with going to a place of worship was that I am not religious, but don’t let that stop you. The message is the important thing to gain from going. If you replace the names God and Jesus with life then you would be at a live motivational speech every Sunday. If you are scared of being converted into a religious person, don’t be. Being religious is not a bad thing. There are many benefits, if it happens it was meant to be.
