So you forgot the sunscreen again, and although this is going to be "the last time" you get sunburnt, you still have to deal with the annoying, painful, and boring recovery. However, this cloud might have a silver lining as being stuck inside and being semi immobile may give you the perfect opportunity to do some things you may not do otherwise. Here are just some potential options to occupy yourself during this day or so where you simply cannot do much.
1. ReadÂ
If you're anything like me, you've got a book that you've wanted to read for a while but simply haven't gotten around to it because you're always out an about. However, now that your stuck inside and have a limited range of motion, it's the perfect time to pick it up and get to reading!
2. Binge watch a show
Typically, you might feel bad about laying around all day just watching T.V. during summer vacation, but now that your skin has been brutally attacked by the suns radiation, you don't have a choice! Why not indulge a little bit and start/finish a show that you have always wanted to watch.
3. Movie Marathon
I'll be the first to admit that I do not like watching movies. For this reason I have a pretty significant lack of knowledge on what is apparently a large portion of popular culture and even history. If you can relate, or if you just want to watch movies without feeling guilty about wasting 2 hours, then do it while your skin is trying to make its way back to normal after being abused by UV rays.
4. Increase your tolerance for cold baths/showers
It is very difficult to enjoy a cold shower despite potential benefits, and it always sucks to get into a cold pool or lake but the idea of it is nice isn't it? Well, while your skin is inflamed and potentially suffering from first degree burns, seek out the uncomfortable soothing sensation of a cold bath or shower, it will relieve pain, and help you next time you want to be the first one of your friends to jump into the pool at your next barbecue.
5. Measure your house's/appartment's square footage manually
If you are really bored, grab yourself a tape measure and get to measuring to determine just how much floor space you have, all without having to find the documentation for the space that definitely already says what that number is.
6. Speed typing
There are pleanty of games/type speed testers online that can tell you how fast you type, take the time of your healing to practice typing until you can type faster than you ever thought possible.
7. Sporcle.com
Just a really dope quiz cite that ranges from completing song lyrics to naming every country in the world, highly addictive, potentially educational, definitely fun (at least I think so).
8. Rearrange your drawers/closet
What is more fun than sorting while listening to some music? Nothing, in my opinion. Get to color coating, sorting by style, season, usage. Its relaxing and will leave you feeling accomplished.
9. Learn to cook something
I've recently gotten into cooking and I kinda love it. If you have the ability to move enough to cook, learn a recipe that you can eventually master and impress your friends with.
10. Scroll through social media being jealous at all the people out having fun while you're stuck inside because you were too stubborn to put on sunscreen even though your mom gave you some before you left for the beach
...
11. Board games!
Get some friends who love you enough to stay inside with you and play a fun board game, there are a lot of fun ones out there that can really bring you and your friends closer and help y'all share laughs. (Note: Twister might be a risky one because it requires a lot of movement, might agitate the sunburn, I do NOT recommend Twister.)
12. Cry
From the physical pain or otherwise
13. Poke your skin, pull your finger, and watch it turn from white to red
