What does summer really mean, you might ask? That's a question that will be answered here in about 2 minutes if you continue to read. (Disclaimer, this mainly refers to summer in the south)
S- Scorching heat.
Here in the South, the temperature is never below 75 during the summer and most days we break 100 without including the heat index. So bring your water bottles and church fans wherever you go.
U- Umbrella.
Also here in the South, we are known to have some serious thunder clouds in the evenings. Always have your umbrella in your car or you will definitely be drenched by 7 pm.
M- Mosquitoes.
In case y'all didn't know, mosquitoes are the state bird of South Carolina, Alabama, Georgia, Tennessee, Louisiana, North Carolina, and Florida.
M- Mud.
Considering we usually have thunder storms daily, the South is often known for their magnificent "mudding" abilities. Granted, the mud is usually dry by 9 am the following day because it is so extremely hot, but we offer mud from around 5 pm until 9 am daily.
E- Eating.
Summertime calls for good food and BBQ's. Any true southerner knows that!
R- Rest and Relaxation.
Any good summer calls for a little R & R. So head to the beach or the lake and catch you a good sun tan and a little rest. You deserve it!
Enjoy your Southern Summer!
