Chicago in the summer is the place to be. Yes, we might have had a bipolar winter and spring (like when it snows in April then goes to 60 degrees -- thanks, global warming), but the summer is not questionable. The lakefront is packed from June all the way to August. Here are some more adventurous things that Chicago has to offer:

1. Navy Pier

Enjoy some cotton candy and take a ride on the beautiful new Ferris wheel that will give you the best view in Chicago.

2. North Avenue and Oak Street Beach

Soak up some rays while enjoying the cool breeze of the lake with family and friends.

3. Lakeshake

New to the city of chiago and making its second debut , Lakeshake has left its mark on the city. To all you country fans, Lakeshake brings some of the best country artists to the best city for a country festival weekend.

4. Lollapalooza

Lolla is one of the biggest music festivals in the U.S., and is in the heart of our beautiful city. It is the Coachella of the midwest.

5. Pitchfork

Another music festival that attracts locals and top artists.

6. Spring Awakening

Love EDM? This is the place for you.

7. North Coast

This music festival that is a Summer wind-down.

8. Cubs games

Wrigleyville is the spot. From the bars to the restaurants, Wrigleyville is always fun. Oh, and did I mention the Cubs are also projected to win this year?

9. Sox games

Even though the Cubs are projected to win don't forget about the White Sox, ladies and gents.

10. Taste of Chicago

Shout-out to all the foodies. Some of the most famous Chicago restaurants line up for you so take advantage and eat away!

11. Movies in the Park

Cozy up to watch the great skyline and your favorite movie in the best city ever.

12. Make your stop at Mario's Ice

Muba Italiano.

13. Go on a boat ride

The river that runs through the city offers multiple boat rides where you can ride along with food and drink and enjoy the tour of the history of Chicago. So sun tan and a enjoy a historic ride.

14. Free Music Mondays

Start your Monday off right and relax on a crisp Monday night with the beautiful Chicago skyline surrounding you in Millennium park.

15. See the top of the Sears Tower

Sorry, I refuse to say "Willis." Ride the elevators to the top of one of the tallest buildings and overlook the most breathtaking scenery.

Chi-town is the best town. So just imagine the summer here with family and friends. Chicago is the place to be, with endless activities. From food to sports, it all comes alive during the summer.

April Ludgate

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated.
