With fall semester sneaking up on us (sadly) I cannot help but think of all the things I would rather do than go back to school and the endless hours of school work. Summer is undoubtedly the best time of year. There is no school, the weather is nice and warm, and you get to lounge around and do whatever you want for 3 whole months! Who wouldn't enjoy that?! So when August arrives, we all know we are about to be tossed back into the harsh reality that is "school." School is a blast don't get me wrong! But, there isn't anything comparable to the warm summer months we all know and love so dearly. Here I have listed only a few of the many things I would rather do than go back to school, enjoy!

1. Go to the beach

Who doesn't love the beach? I would take the warm weather, sand and salty ocean water over homework and class ANY DAY!

2. Float around in the pool

What is better than floating around in the pool with a nice cold drink in your hand? Definitely NOT pop quizzes!

3. Go to the zoo

I am sure that any animal lover can agree with me that they would much rather spend a day amongst exotic animals than deal with irrational teachers.

4. Go on a walk

Honestly, anything is better than going back to school if we are being honest...

5. Pet a dog

I mean I think that we can all agree dog petting just about takes the cake!!

6. Go on a hike

Fresh air is always good! (and much better than being cooped up in the library for 24 hours straight!)

7. Go on a drive blasting music

This is definitely one of the best parts of summer! Getting to drive around town with your friends from home with the windows down. I would definitely trade it for going back to school.

8. Get ice cream

Ice cream is not only for the summer, it is a treat meant for whenever the heck you want! And I do not know one single person that would take school over the delicious frozen dessert.

9. Go shopping

Why spend money on school when you can spend it on a whole new wardrobe!

10. Go on a road trip

Get a few friends together, pick a location, get in the car and go! Some of the best memories are made by making spontaneous plans!

11. Go to a museum

Even if you are not a museum person, I am sure you would take that over going back to school! I know I would (and I am not really into most museums..)

12. Have a bonfire

Nothing says summer like a good bonfire with some good friends (preferably on the beach)

13. Sit in traffic

In the end I think we would all take almost anything over going back to school!

Summer is not over yet! Luckily we have a few more weeks of freedom so let's enjoy them while we can and make the most of them! Because I know in a few months we are all going to be wishing we could have these carefree moments back. Enjoy the rest of your summer! :)

girl with a hat

This is for the girls who have dealt with an emotionally, mentally, physically or verbally abusive father.

The ones who have grown up with a false lens of what love is and how relationships should be. The ones who have cried themselves to sleep wondering why he hurts you and your family so much. This is for all the girls who fall in love with broken boys that carry baggage bigger than their own, thinking it's their job to heal them because you watched your mother do the same.

Blair Waldorf Quote
"DESTINY IS FOR LOSERS. IT'S JUST A STUPID EXCUSE TO WAIT FOR THINGS TO HAPPEN INSTEAD OF MAKING THEM HAPPEN." - BLAIR WALDORF.

The world stopped in 2012 when our beloved show "Gossip Girl" ended. For six straight years, we would all tune in every Monday at 9:00 p.m. to see Upper Eastside royalty in the form of a Burberry headband clad Blair Waldorf. Blair was the big sister that we all loved to hate. How could we ever forget the epic showdowns between her and her frenemy Serena Van Der Woodsen? Or the time she banished Georgina Sparks to a Christian summer camp? How about that time when she and her girls took down Bart Bass? Blair is life. She's taught us how to dress, how to be ambitious, and most importantly, how to throw the perfect shade.

too tired to care

We've all been there. From move-in day to the first finals week in college, your first term is an adventure from start to finish. In honor of college decisions coming out recently, I want to recap some of the most common experiences college freshmen experience.

1. The awkward hellos on move-in day.

You're moving your stuff onto your floor, and you will encounter people you don't know yet in the hallway. They live on your floor, so you'll awkwardly smile and maybe introduce yourself. As you walk away, you will wonder if they will ever speak to you again, but don't worry, there's a good chance that you will make some great friends on your floor!

Recently I completed my freshman year of college, and boy, what an experience. It was a completely new learning environment and I can't believe how much I learned. In an effort to save time, here are the ten biggest lessons I learned from my first year of college.

1. Everyone is in the same boat

For me, the scariest part of starting school was that I was alone, that I wouldn't be able to make any friends and that I would stick out. Despite being told time and time again that everyone had these same feelings, it didn't really click until the first day when I saw all the other freshman looking as uneasy and uncomfortable as me. Therefore, I cannot stress this enough, everyone is feeling as nervous as you.
