Summer vacation: young people are finally free from their institutionalized education for several months of whatever they want to do. The pressure to have an epic summer adventure and come back to school with the best story is real. Everyone wants to do something amazing. But what?
It starts off simple.
You and your buds finish your finals, and the weight of school is finally gone! Your group text will not shut up with everyone's summer aspirations of road trips and summer flings. There's talk about how we can all have a bonfire every night and going to the mall and just living the aesthetic summer dream.
Next we decide to just chill for a bit.
Hey, we have like three months ... chill man. No one has to do anything for a while, there's lots of time to just mellow out and chill ... right?
Then you realize the funds are low.
A summer job is an unfortunate must. If you really want to fall through on all those plans and trips with friends. you're going to need a bank account that isn't in the negatives.
The Lull
None of your plans have worked out. Everyone is working and on different schedules. You suddenly can't see a life outside of working in costumer service and it. is. terrifying.
Squad up
You finally have enough money to do something. Maybe it's not the big epic, movie-like friendship get away you all dreamed of, but it's something.
Friendship drama.
Someone said something about how someone did something stupid — long story short, the new summer environment is vastly different from the school environment. You may even be around friends you haven't been around in a while. Fights and disagreements are sure to ensue.
Oh no...
Well now you've gotten wrapped up in this seemingly never-ending parade of friendship drama and war. Thankfully, it will probably only last a week.
That one crazy night.
I literally have no words here, just some GIFs to describe that one night ... you know what I'm talking about.
The moment you realize you didn't do anything you actually wanted to do.
Plans don't always work out. But hey, there's always next summer.
One last adventure?
Might as well.
