For many, summer is a coveted time of the year where we finally get to unwind, relax, and escape the daily stresses of school.
Summer hasn’t always been my favorite season, but I’ve been warming up to it (gotta love puns). I’m so used to a daily routine, and I actually prefer a routine over nothing at all. But, I can obviously see why many people love summer so much. You’re finally free! No grades or deadlines for assignments. Yeah, most of us have to work, but it’s not the end of the world. Honestly, a summer job is amazing for many obvious reasons.
I love summer time because, like I previously mentioned before, I finally get to relax. And, everyone is happier and life just feels better this time around. Growing up, I didn't really like summer because I honestly wasn't allowed to do much due to having strict parents. But, everything's completely different now. I'm able to go out and do whatever I want (for the most part).
Summer is when our best memories are usually made. Don’t get me wrong, winter really is my favorite season, but it’s just easier to have a good time in the summer. Also, there are always great movies and new songs coming out. They make the summer even better.
I live for the nights that turn into days and for the hysterical you-had-to-be-there-type of memories. I really hope to create more of those this summer. I also want to reinvent my wardrobe too. There are so many things to do, and many ideas to fulfill. It just takes patience.
Another part of summer is the freedom to sit and binge-watch my favorite TV shows without too much guilt. It's raining out? Watch some Shameless or Black Mirror. Chances are, you could probably catch me binge-watching even on a sunny day too.
This summer I want to take mini trips away from home, such as a day trip to NYC or Philly. I honestly love New York City so much and there's an endless amount of things to do over there. As for Philly, there are always concerts going on so it'd be great to see someone live this summer too. That’s what the summer’s for — enjoying life and living free while you still can.
