With Summer right around the corner, there's no denying one thing for sure---swimsuit season is about to be fully intact, ready or not. So, if you have spent all winter toning your buns and tightening your abs then kudos to you BUT on the contrary for those that have been giving into temptation and have yet to even see the inside of a gym then you'll definitely want to tune into what I have to say. There's plenty of fixes that you can look into that will allow you to be bikini body ready in time for vacay and I'm going to share with you some of the most common ways that will leave you toned, tight, and right!
So here we are, about a month away from freedom and for some of us—summer vacation! But with a lot of summer vacations comes the two common B ’s: beaches and bikinis. You know what doesn’t mix well? Being at the beach in a bikini and not feeling too hot about your bod, but don’t fret! Below I’ve comprised a list of ways you can prep for the awaited vacation and strut your stuff confidently!
You may hate it, but cardio along with a balanced diet does serve its purpose and gives you the results you want if you’re trying to get in shape. There are many different forms of cardio to consider if you’re hitting the gym for the next month, consider incorporating running, the elliptical, or even biking for 30-45 minutes at the gym followed by minimal weight training or no-machine exercise and you’ll be well on your way to a toned tush and tummy in no time. My big tip of advice if you’re going the conventional route, remember to stay as hydrated as you can and make H2O your BFF.
For anyone who’s a fan of dancing then I’d highly recommend taking some Zumba classes to get your heart rate pumping. That’s right, dance can be a substitute for generic exercise that will definitely have you working up a sweat! The cool thing about these classes is that they’re intended for you to get a good workout in, in the most unconventional way. They’re upbeat, high-energy yet fun sessions that will surely have you burning plenty of calories while you’re in the grove.
One word---HIIT, or high-intensity interval training. Think of this as cardio and multiply that by 100 because if there's one thing pretty accurate about this form of exercise is that it's definitely high intensity. You could consider this a more advanced version of your regular cardio; for example, let's say for scenario you're on the treadmill and instead of settling for your normal run with this method you would run as fast as you can for one sold minute and then settle for a brief walk and repeating this interval for 15-20 minutes. It may sound simple but it's actually quite challenging but given that it does offer a variety of benefits that include burning twice the calories as opposed to doing normal cardio, you increase your metabolism, and you can strengthen your heart. With that being said, anyone thinking about getting fit with HIIT?
I think I've saved the best for last, in my opinion, that is and honestly, this is something I've been wanting to try for myself---kickboxing that is! This method forces you to really use you to use your strength and allows you to get a hardcore total body workout in. I'd say this is also a great way to relieve any anger or stress you may have built up inside, as is for any form of exercise or working out. All of the bobbing, weaving, and punching combine amount to hundreds of calories burned per hours!
My biggest tip of advice when you're working towards bettering your physique is to remember that change doesn't happen overnight and you really do have to make a consistent habit out of it until you start seeing the results you want. Commit to be fit, your summer body will thank you.
