It's summer, you're hanging out with your friends, and what music are you listening to? Literal trash. Let me be the one to change that! Not to diss your taste in music, but if you don't have these songs on your summer playlist then what are you doing with your life? And don't worry, there's a little bit of every genre mixed in to please all your summertime moods.

You'll definitely be the designated DJ with these songs:

1. "West Coast" - Coconut Records

Summer break separate you from a S.O, your friends, or family? This is a perfectly relatable tune to fit your feelings.

2. "These Days" - Wallows

I live for songs with a super chill melody just like this one. Also, fun fact: Dylan Minnette (a.k.a Clay Jensen from "13 Reason's Why") is the lead singer. I've never found him attractive until I watched a live performance of theirs. *swoons*

3. "New Light" - John Mayer

Let's be honest, we all know that John Mayer's music isn't limited to just one time of year, but there's just something about listening to him on a summer night that you just can't beat.

4. "Skin" - dijon

This song makes me want to walk on the beach, during the sunset, hand in hand with the boyfriend I don't have.

5. "Cruzin'" - Snakeships ft St. Rulez

Cruzin' while playing "Cruzin'"? It's such a perfect fit that it beats Cinderella and her glass slipper by a landslide.

6. "Sweetest Girl" - Wycleaf Jean ft Akon, Lil Wayne and Niia

If you don't know all the words to this early 2000's bop then don't ever speak to me.

7. "Crash" - Skizzy Mars ft Pell

The song literally starts off with "Dive in the waters fine..." obviously this is going to be a great summer song.

8. "Pine & Ginger" - Amindi K. Fro$t ft Tessellate and Valleyz

This is just a really chill feel-good song.

9. "Start Me Up" - The Rolling Stones

I feel like I listen to rock and roll 10 times more in the summer than any other time of the year. Blast this song on a sunny day with your windows down and you'll see why.

10. "Queen of Daydreams" - Third Eye Blind

Just by the band name you should already know that this song is going to be a good one.

11. "This Is How We Do It" - Montell Jordan

Obviously.

12. "Like I Do" - David Guetta ft. Martin Garrix and Brooks

This is the perfect summer dance song.

13. "Colours In The Sky" - Miami Horror ft Cleopold

This is currently my anthem.

14. "Boo'd Up" - Ella Mai

I've heard mixed reactions about this song but I'm very much here for it.

15. "High Horse" - Kacey Musgraves

This song is so upbeat and we all have someone that comes to mine when we hear the lyrics.

16. "Farsi" - Ariaa ft T-Pain

A great song to play at all your summer parties.

17. "I Like It" - Cardi B ft J Balvin and Bad Bunny

Everyone gets hyped up when this song starts playing.

18. "Girls Like You" - Maroon 5

*Pretends Adam Levine is singing to me"

19. "Sweet Home Alabama" - Lynard Skynard

Is it really summer unless you've heard this song at least 500 times?

20. "Margaritaville" - Jimmy Buffett

Oh Jimmy Buffett, the king of summertime beach music, how I love you.

In addition to this wonderful list of amazing music, below is where you can listen to each of them to check out how awesome they are for yourself. Hopefully you'll fall in love with these songs and will rock out all summer long!

girl with a hat

This is for the girls who have dealt with an emotionally, mentally, physically or verbally abusive father.

The ones who have grown up with a false lens of what love is and how relationships should be. The ones who have cried themselves to sleep wondering why he hurts you and your family so much. This is for all the girls who fall in love with broken boys that carry baggage bigger than their own, thinking it's their job to heal them because you watched your mother do the same.

Blair Waldorf Quote
"DESTINY IS FOR LOSERS. IT'S JUST A STUPID EXCUSE TO WAIT FOR THINGS TO HAPPEN INSTEAD OF MAKING THEM HAPPEN." - BLAIR WALDORF.

The world stopped in 2012 when our beloved show "Gossip Girl" ended. For six straight years, we would all tune in every Monday at 9:00 p.m. to see Upper Eastside royalty in the form of a Burberry headband clad Blair Waldorf. Blair was the big sister that we all loved to hate. How could we ever forget the epic showdowns between her and her frenemy Serena Van Der Woodsen? Or the time she banished Georgina Sparks to a Christian summer camp? How about that time when she and her girls took down Bart Bass? Blair is life. She's taught us how to dress, how to be ambitious, and most importantly, how to throw the perfect shade.

too tired to care

We've all been there. From move-in day to the first finals week in college, your first term is an adventure from start to finish. In honor of college decisions coming out recently, I want to recap some of the most common experiences college freshmen experience.

1. The awkward hellos on move-in day.

You're moving your stuff onto your floor, and you will encounter people you don't know yet in the hallway. They live on your floor, so you'll awkwardly smile and maybe introduce yourself. As you walk away, you will wonder if they will ever speak to you again, but don't worry, there's a good chance that you will make some great friends on your floor!

Recently I completed my freshman year of college, and boy, what an experience. It was a completely new learning environment and I can't believe how much I learned. In an effort to save time, here are the ten biggest lessons I learned from my first year of college.

1. Everyone is in the same boat

For me, the scariest part of starting school was that I was alone, that I wouldn't be able to make any friends and that I would stick out. Despite being told time and time again that everyone had these same feelings, it didn't really click until the first day when I saw all the other freshman looking as uneasy and uncomfortable as me. Therefore, I cannot stress this enough, everyone is feeling as nervous as you.
