Summer is not only the best time to take a break from classes (by the way, if you are taking any summer classes, good luck), it is the opportunity to hang out with family and friends to see a movie, enjoy a day at the beach, dance at a night club, or just celebrate getting through another semester. No matter what you decide to do, the one thing you need to make vacations even more fun is a great music playlist. Here are some songs that will amplify your next summer event.

"I Get Around" by The Beach Boys

This is the song you need when traveling to different places for a special occasion this summer. Nothing beats a relaxing drive around town while enjoying many fun activities and events with friends. The weekend is especially the best time to spend at a concert or dance club. Perhaps during your adventures, you will find a place that captures your interest.

"Shut Up and Dance" by Walk The Moon

Here is the song that will get you dancing at any party. The rhythm is cool and you cannot resist the beat. Feel the music hit you and show off your amazing dance moves. You might impress friends and a potential dance partner at the event.

"Give Me Everything" By Pitbull

If you want a song about living in the present, then here is a good one. Life is short, that is why it's important to make every moment count. Always try to find the time to experience life (just be responsible), and forget about your problems for a while. Spending a day in NYC is a good place to have fun, especially Time Square like the song references.

"Turn Down For What" by DJ Snake

In this song, when there is a party going on, the only option you have is to turn up the music. Start dancing to your favorite songs, only taking a break to get something to eat, drink, or use the restroom. Try to stay for five or six hours at the most. It is not certain why anyone would turn down a party, unless you are a parent, landlord, or just do not like them in general.

"Surfin' USA" by the Beach Boys

Even if you do not know how to surf, you will still enjoy this song. It really delivers awesome summer vibes and the joy of going to the beach and having an amazing time. Anyone that does not want to travel and has an in-ground pool (an above ground one is nice, as well) is considered lucky. If you are planning a trip to the beach (according to the song, June is the best time) make sure to bring family and friends, enjoy the sun, and go surfing if you are in the right location.

"School's Out" by Alice Cooper

This is a fun song with a great rhythm that will certainly bring nostalgia if you listened to music on MTV or played "Guitar Hero." It is a classic rock jam for the end of the school year and beginning of summer, whether it's your freshman or senior year. The childhood rhyme from grade school is referenced and there are double entendres in the song to give you a laugh. If you want music to kick off a rocking summer then I would recommend this one.

"Dont' Stop the Party" by Pitbull

If you are looking for a song that will make you dance and showcase your moves, then look no further. Any Pitbull song works, but this one is definitely a classic. Gather your friends together for an awesome event (it can be a house, block, or July 4th party) and turn up the music. Do not forget to bring delicious food. Remember, it's not a party without Pitbull.

"One Dance" by Drake

For those looking for a song to dance to with a slower beat, here is one. You can still move around without getting too crazy. The rhythm is smoother and less intense. It is good music when you are at a small gathering with family or friends.

"We Will Rock You" by Queen

Here is a classic rock song that everyone knows and one that makes audiences clap to the beat. It's about transitioning from a child to an adult. Feel the rhythm and let go of complications. Not only is the message of following your dreams instead of wasting your life inspiring, but the music is also incredible.

"Can't Stop the Feeling!" by Justin Timberlake

This is another great song to dance to with friends at a party. When the music is turned on, and your favorite song is playing, you cannot help but dance to the music. The rhythm is fast and the music has a nice beat. So when you are at a summer party, BBQ, or any other event with music, just do what the lyrics say and dance, dance, dance.

New year, new semester, not the same old thing. This semester will be a semester to redeem all the mistakes made in the previous five months.

1. I will wake up (sorta) on time for class.

Let's face it, last semester you woke up with enough time to brush your teeth and get to class and even then you were about 10 minutes late and rollin' in with some pretty unfortunate bed head. This semester we will set our alarms, wake up with time to get ready, and get to class on time!

And so it begins.

1. Walk in motivated and ready to rock

Camping out at the library is not for the faint of heart. You need to go in as a warrior. You usually have brought supplies (laptop, chargers, and textbooks) and sustenance (water, snacks, and blanket/sweatpants) since the battle will be for an undetermined length of time. Perhaps it is one assignment or perhaps it's four. You are motivated and prepared; you don’t doubt the assignment(s) will take time, but you know it couldn’t be that long.
