Why is it the longest day of the year? Take advantage of the extra time outdoors. The longest day of the year is the perfect time to play a game of soccer, have a beach bonfire, or sit on the back porch and escape from busy life with a great novel. This year's summer solstice occurs on Tuesday, June 20 or Wednesday, June 21 (depending on location). Impress others and read through these six fun facts about summer solstice.
