Summer Recipes

During these hot summer months, we all want some yummy treats that can keep us cool while chilling by the pool. Here are some quick and easy recipes that will keep you satisfied all summer long.

Sour Patch Grapes

You will need:

-1 pound fresh green grapes

-1 package of Watermelon Jell-O unprepared

-1 package of sugar-free Lemon Jell-O unprepared

Mix the two Jell-O flavors together in a small plastic bag. Then pour a little bit at a time onto a plate.

Remove the grapes from the stems and run the grapes under water to clean them. While the grapes are still slightly damp, place a few onto the place with the Jell-O mixture and roll them around for an even coating.

Place the evenly-coated grapes into a bowl, and continue coating the rest of the grapes with the Jell-O mixture.

Put the coated grapes in the fridge for about an hour before serving.

Homemade Passion Tea Lemonade

You will need:

-2 Tazo Passion Tea bags

-16 oz. water

-4 oz. lemonade

-2 tsp. sugar

-1/8 tsp. vanilla

Bring the water to a boil. Then remove from heat and add the tea bags, sugar, and vanilla. Let this mixture sit for about 15 minutes. Remove the tea bags and place in the fridge for at least one hour.

Fill a tall, sealable pitcher with ice. Add 8 oz. of the tea mixture and 2 oz. of lemonade per serving. Shake the mixture well before serving.

5-minute Healthy Strawberry Frozen Yogurt

You will need:

-4 cups of frozen strawberries

-3 Tbs. agave nectar or honey

-1/2 cup plain yogurt (non-fat or regular will work)

-1 Tbs. fresh lemon juice

In a food processor, combine the frozen strawberries, agave nectar/honey, yogurt, and lemon juice. Process the mixture for about five minutes until creamy.

Writing a paper is never fun and is rarely rewarding. The writer's block, the page requirement, be specific, but don’t summarize, make sure you fixed any grammatical errors, did you even use spellcheck? and analyze, analyze, analyze.

Papers can be a major pain. They take up so much time and effort that by the end of the process you hate yourself and you hate the professor for making life so difficult. Questions of your existence start roaming in your mind. Am I even cut out for college if I can’t write a single paper? Am I even capable of taking care of myself if I lack the energy to open my laptop and start typing?

I can barely remember back when I was the only child. Most would say it’s because it is extremely difficult to remember things as a toddler but I would say it's because I was bored until my sister came along. My mother always says how important the "sister bond" is and with every year that passes I realize how right she is. Instead of writing a novel about all of the wonderful things there are about having a sister I decided to list a few of them instead.

It is the time of our lives that we are beginning to enter the adult world and most of us, if not all of us, have no idea what we are doing. It's like starting a video game, but skipping the tutorial. We're all just running around aimlessly hoping we accidentally do something right that moves us along the right path. Now that graduation has just happened, or is right around the corner for some of us, it's time to start thinking about how we are going to take care of ourselves once we are on our own.
