t's the beginning of summer, which for most means travels, long days by the pool, hanging out with friends until all sorts of hours, and sleeping in all you want. But that isn't exactly the case for everyone, especially college athletes who spend their summer preparing for their upcoming season and most likely their dreaded preseason. I'm sure as running and fitness packets got sent out and you realized what your summer would be like, some of these thoughts may have crossed your mind.
1. WHYYYYYYYYY?!?!?!?!?!?!?
2. What happened to summer BREAK? Emphasis on the whole BREAK part.

3. Do I have to?
4. Would it really make that big of a difference if I skipped a few weeks?

5. What would happen if I got the whole team to boycott the summer running, what would coach do?
6. Is preseason really going to be that hard?.... wait don'
7. What if I modify the running a little? For example instead of five miles I do more like five minutes of running.
8. What would happen if I just didn't show up for pre-season....
9. I want to stay out until 2 a.m. with my friends but I have to get up at 6 a.m. to run so I'm not running when it's 98 degrees outside.
10 Friend: Hey what are you doing tonight?
Me: Running.
Friend: You did that yesterday though.
Me: Yeah, don't remind me.
11. I really want to eat that whole cake, but I don't really want to taste it later when I do my workout packet.
12. Wow, this really sucks.
13. I don't think I'm going to be able to move in the morning.

17. I better do this in case everyone else is. I don't want to be last or the girl that throws up the first day of preseason.
8. Can summer and preseason just be over yet, I’m ready for GAME DAY!
To all you going through this, you are not alone. There are a lot of us feeling the same way. Push through and get your workouts done, because in the end (or the first day of preseason running) you'll be thankful you did it.
Run your little heart out, drink lots of water, and may the fitness test be ever in your favor. Just remember your first game can't be too far away and the faster you get the running done, the sooner you can be back in bed or laying out by the pool.
