Summer; my personal favorite season! Summer means sunshine, lemonade, and driving with the top down! It means swimming pools, visiting family, and actually having some free time! The only thing better than the weather, in my opinion, is the music you play while going about all the best summer activities! I have done extensive research of my music library to select ten songs that I think set the mood for a fun summer. Enjoy!

1. Summer by Calvin Harris

This song manages to be chill and still gets me pumped up at the same time. It's perfect for whatever your pace may be this summer. That, and the fact that it's actually about summer!

2. Superbad by Jesse McCartney

A very catchy song that never fails to get my head bobbing, it's perfect to listen to while sunbathing or walking down the street! Just be sure you won't mind the funny looks you'll get dancing down the street listening to this song!

3. Backseat Driver (feat. Hollyn and TRU) by tobyMac

Another catchy song that's perfect for driving around with friends or on your own! It's also a reminder not to be a backseat driver! ;)

4. Live Easy by Colton Avery

My ABSOLUTE favorite lesser known artist on his way up, Colton Avery wrote the perfect song for the more laid back moments of summer. You won't be able to help but smile listening to it!

5. Carried Away by Passion Pit

Another song that's laid back and pumped up at the same time, it's perfect for anything that you might be doing this summer...it might even have you dancing!

6. Evil in the Night

This song is perfect for driving around by yourself this summer; it will undoubtedly bring out your inner rockstar and earn you some sideways glances from the car next to you, but jam on!

7. Like Woah by Aly and AJ

One of my all time favorite songs, this song is the perfect song for those lucky enough to have theme park adventures this summer! Go ride that rollercoaster!

8. Windows Down by Big Time Rush

I know, I know...why is some Nickelodeon boy band on this list? Give the song a listen! I've always wanted to blast this song driving around time with my friends...roll those windows down and play it!

9. Hurry Up and Save Me by Tiffany Giardina

This song is perfect for anything that needs a pumped up song! If you need a little motivation to do less-fun things like chores or working out, this is the song for you!

10. You're So True by Joseph Arthur

Another one of my all time favorite songs, it's another great song for laid back times you'll have this summer. Take a few deep breaths and let your mood match the melody!

Let me know what songs that you would add to the list and what you thought of mine, and don't forget to enjoy your summer, whatever you may be doing! :)

Today I started my third week of college at Minnesota State Moorhead. I have survived welcome week, finding my classes on the first day, and being an awkward loner in the dining hall. Even though I have yet to be here for a month, I have already experienced many thoughts and problems that only a new college student can relate to.

"Make sure to get involved when you're in college!"

We've all heard some variation of this phrase, whether it came from parents, other family members, friends, RAs, or college-related articles. And, like many clichés, it's true for the most part. Getting involved during your college years can help you make friends, build your resume, and feel connected to your campus. However, these commitments can get stressful if you're dealing with personal issues, need to work, or aren't sure how to balance classes and everything else going on during the semester.

In college, one of the essential things to have is friends. Yes, textbooks, a laptop, and other school supplies are important but friends are essential. Friends are that support system everybody needs. The more friends you have the better the support system you have. But you also have someone to share experiences with. And don’t settle for just one or two friends because 8 out of 10 times they are busy and you are studying all alone. Or they have other friend groups that do not include you. Don’t settle for just one or two friends; make as many friends as you can. After the first couple of weeks of college, most friend groups are set and you may be without friends.

For a moment your world is spinning. The phone alarm has just scared you awake and you’re flooded by daunting thoughts of the day ahead. You have three assignments due and little time to work on them because of your job. You’re running late because you’ve hit snooze one to many times after yesterday’s long hours. You dizzily reach for a hoodie, craving its comfort, and rush for a speedy exit, praying you will have time to pick up coffee. Does this sound familiar?

Finals week is upon us. It is a magical time of year during which college students everywhere flock to the library in attempt to learn a semester's worth of knowledge in only a week. For some students, it's their first time in the library all semester, maybe ever. Others have slaved away many nights under the fluorescent lights, and are slightly annoyed to find their study space being invaded by amateurs. While these newbies wander aimlessly around the first floor, hopelessly trying to find a table, the OGs of the library are already on the third floor long tables deep into their studies. Here is a few signs that you may live in the library, whether you'd like to admit it or not.
