Summer Is About Finding Yourself

So make it one to remember.

Summer Is About Finding Yourself

Summer.

It's the time of the year that everyone counts down to.

It's when you can be carefree and do whatever you want because you don't have to worry about school and exams and other responsibilities as much.

The weather is perfect, the music is incredible, and the vibes are unforgettable.

Summer should be a time of exploration and growth.

You should spend your new found freedom working on yourself, whether it be working out, spending time with those you don't see as often, traveling to somewhere new and exciting, changing up your style... the list goes on.

I found that recently, every summer I set a goal for myself to master before the hectic school year starts back up again and I'm back into my routine of sleep, eat, school, work, repeat.

I like to see myself grow and blossom into a new person when I finally have the time to change things about myself that I'd like to.

I think summer is a great way to do just that, and the results are always so rewarding.

This summer so far I've gone on a life-changing leadership development trip through my school, I've attended a music festival and many other concerts, I'm going to be traveling to Ohio and Ireland, working to make spending money for myself, and simply enjoying the warm weather surrounded by the people I love most.

Of course every summer is different for everyone, but I encourage you to step out of your comfort zone and do something new while you can.

I definitely never would've thought I'd travel to a whole different country during summer, but I saved up for the trip and pushed myself to do it anyway.

So get out there, soak up the sun, and find yourself in the process.

1. When course schedules are released and you have a conflict between two required classes.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

As an English Major in college, I have a lot of writing and especially creative writing pieces that I work on throughout the semester and sometimes, I'll find it hard to get the motivation to type a few pages and the thought process that goes behind it. April Ludgate

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
