You would think that summer, for college students, is basically heaven. No more school, no more early classes, or even late classes and no terrible school food either.
But weirdly that's not the case for a lot of college students, who are trying their hardest to work even more over the summer with an internship. Hopefully, if you get lucky, it's paid (let's not joke around, it's probably not). And on top of that, it's not surprising that interns, even the paid ones, won’t walk away with much pocket change when they return to school. According to Kenneth Tsang, a research associate at the National Association of Colleges and Employers (NACE), "typically, computer science majors get about $20 an hour in a paid internship, liberal arts majors about $15".
Let's talk about summer internships, because I know a lot of us are dealing with them, and I definitely know a lot of us are extremely sick of the search, the conversations, and the bullsh*t.
