Why Go Out In The Summer Heat When You Can Netflix Binge?

We're halfway through summer and we're now, not so happily, finally being boiled by the sun! If you're anything like me, then you love being outside.. except when I walk five steps and I'm already soaked in sweat! (It's so gross!) For these one hundred degree days, I love to stay inside and Netflix binge either by myself or with friends. Netflix offers such a wide variety of all different kinds of shows. There are romances, comedies, dark stuff, scary stuff, crime shows, documentaries, and so much other fun stuff. So, if you are trying to beat the heat, just like I am, Netflix is definitely the way to go. Overwhelmed by all your choices and do not know what to watch? Well, here are my top shows to binge watch:

Gossip Girl

Georgina, that is probably the most truthful thing you've ever said. Now I'm not the type of girl who only watches girly shows but come on... Gossip Girl is one of a kind and captures anyone's attention. I am just waiting for the day where they bring it back. (PLEASE creators, bring it back! We're begging you!) No matter how many times I watch it, this show will never get old.

Gilmore Girls

Now to watch Gilmore Girls, you have to have a weird sense of humor and be able to keep up with fast talking and wild coffee cravings. My sister got me hooked on this show and I thank her every day. I cannot wait for the reunion season. I feel like it is literally taking years. This show makes you want to live in Stars Hallow.

The Ranch

The Ranch is a Netflix Original show starring Ashton Kutcher and Sam Elliott. Get ready for cussing and sex because there is lots of it! But even without it, the show is still hilarious and will definitely keep you wanting more.

Orange Is The New Black

I'm sure everyone has seen season four already and if you haven't, well, then what are you waiting for? Ever since season one, this show has been a huge hit. It is also a Netflix Original so you can only watch it on Netflix. I have a feeling a lot more people started paying for Netflix when this show came out because as Red would say, "it's fucking funny."

Army Wives

I'm sure not a lot of people know what this show is. All of the seasons are on Netflix and are waiting for you! I didn't think I'd like this show but once I started watching it, I was hooked. This is actually what happens to families in the military. I absolutely loved and I think everyone else would to.

Hopefully by the time you finish all of these shows, the heat will die back down and you can go outside! Happy binging!

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
