Electrifying music, thriving fashion trends, vigorous young crowds, and a destination filled with amusement. What am I talking about? Why, Summer music festivals, of course!

It’s that time of the year again and, as always, you can’t have music festivals without the fashion trends that accompany them. In 2017, we’re seeing that these summer festival fashion trends are a true reflection of the crowd’s attitude - bold, carefree, lively, and adventurous. And if we were to talk about the one fashion rule that must be followed, it’s pretty simple, there is no rule.

Wear whatever you want, just make sure to rank high in this year’s trend index! This can be shorts, skirts, and in case you want to flaunt your bikini body (and all those long hours you spent at the gym instead of relaxing with Netflix and a nice tub of ice cream), pair them with a nice bikini top. Just keep in mind that whatever you wear should be comfortable enough for long walks or hours spent dancing tirelessly to your favorite music!

Sounds nice, right? Well, yes, yes it does, but let’s be real for a second. While summer music festivals are wonderful, they aren’t all peaches and cream. Why? Because to your cute footwear’s dismay, going to one can leave you spattered with mud. Something you can do to counter the dirt is to wear ankle-length boots that will save your feet while adding a super cool touch to any look paired with short dresses, hot pants or skirts.

Let’s not forget those who don’t mind adding a muddy layer around their feet to complete their look, though. If you’re one of these or one of the ones attending dirt-free venues, feel free to put your feet in some trendy casual footwear that isn’t limited by length. Example, OTBT is a fashion footwear Brand that recently launched a of shoes that can boost any attire. However, if you’re like me and would prefer to stay protected, an option is to wear the following OTBT shoes:

OTBT Ankle Length Boots: To protect your feet from mud and give you a much-needed style high

.

And pair them with the following for a stylish, effortless look:

Off the Shoulder Top with a Long Slit Skirt: Flaunt your style with this non-risky attire that can’t go wrong with summer festivals.

Transparent Dresses: These are very stylish and let you stand out

.

Sexy Crochet Top with a Short Skirt: Good look for any summer occasion

.

Hot Pants with Lace Tops, Shirts, Boots and a Hat: This look is quickly taking over many Instagram accounts this summer.

Wrapping Up

Don’t forget that the perfect look requires perfect accessories. And with “Burning Man” just round the corner, festival goers know that this entails a combination of both hot and cold weather; scalding during the day and chilly at night. To look flawless and on point with BOTH temperature extremes, make sure to carry accessories for every occasion:

  • Hot pants: comfy and stylish
  • Crochet Top: a sexy top that lets you flaunt your skin
  • Sling: a stylish sling bag to rock and carry small essentials and accessories
  • Boots: adds variety and protects your feet
  • Sunglasses: saves you from harsh sunlight and shapes your face
  • Sunscreen: essential for skin protection
  • Coat: adds style to any look and protects you from night-time chills
  • All of these styles will make you look chic, so the only things left are a smile and the confidence to get going!

This is for the girls who have dealt with an emotionally, mentally, physically or verbally abusive father.

The ones who have grown up with a false lens of what love is and how relationships should be. The ones who have cried themselves to sleep wondering why he hurts you and your family so much. This is for all the girls who fall in love with broken boys that carry baggage bigger than their own, thinking it's their job to heal them because you watched your mother do the same.

    Blair Waldorf Quote
"DESTINY IS FOR LOSERS. IT'S JUST A STUPID EXCUSE TO WAIT FOR THINGS TO HAPPEN INSTEAD OF MAKING THEM HAPPEN." - BLAIR WALDORF.

The world stopped in 2012 when our beloved show "Gossip Girl" ended. For six straight years, we would all tune in every Monday at 9:00 p.m. to see Upper Eastside royalty in the form of a Burberry headband clad Blair Waldorf. Blair was the big sister that we all loved to hate. How could we ever forget the epic showdowns between her and her frenemy Serena Van Der Woodsen? Or the time she banished Georgina Sparks to a Christian summer camp? How about that time when she and her girls took down Bart Bass? Blair is life. She's taught us how to dress, how to be ambitious, and most importantly, how to throw the perfect shade.

    too tired to care

    1. The awkward hellos on move-in day.

You're moving your stuff onto your floor, and you will encounter people you don't know yet in the hallway. They live on your floor, so you'll awkwardly smile and maybe introduce yourself. As you walk away, you will wonder if they will ever speak to you again, but don't worry, there's a good chance that you will make some great friends on your floor!

Recently I completed my freshman year of college, and boy, what an experience. It was a completely new learning environment and I can't believe how much I learned. In an effort to save time, here are the ten biggest lessons I learned from my first year of college.

    1. Everyone is in the same boat

For me, the scariest part of starting school was that I was alone, that I wouldn't be able to make any friends and that I would stick out. Despite being told time and time again that everyone had these same feelings, it didn't really click until the first day when I saw all the other freshman looking as uneasy and uncomfortable as me. Therefore, I cannot stress this enough, everyone is feeling as nervous as you.
