10 Summer Date Ideas For When You Are Over The Whole Dinner And A Movie Thing

Summer is a great time to grow as a couple and go on dates you typically wouldn't. Dinner and a movie will always be an available option, but take advantage of the beautiful weather in the summer because it sadly won't last forever.

1. Take a hike

Side note: if your significant other tells you they want to take you on a hike in their woods you may want to pass. Lets just say maybe I did and maybe I walked away with more scratches from sticks than you could imagine.

2. Detox with a weekend getaway

Totally recommend NYC. Shopping AND good food?! What more could someone need.

3. Mini golfing

(If you have any tips on how to get your boyfriend to actually go, let me know. But, I do think it could be fun!) PS: most places that offer mini golf 9 out of 10 times have ice cream.

4. Go to a fair

Nothing beats cotton candy, making your significant other play a bunch of games just so you can win that over sized stuffed animal, and a kiss at the top of the Ferris wheel.

5. Try food from a local food truck

Summer is the perfect time to try new food, and a lot of the time food trucks have some of the best. Smoothies, burgers, açaí bowls, BBQ, and even tacos. You name it, and there probably is a food truck that has it.

6. Have a picnic

Cliché, I know. But, don't knock it 'til you try it.

7. Build a fire

And of course that comes along with making s'mores, because, duh, who doesn't love s'mores?

8. Take some type of class together

Maybe it is a fitness class or maybe it is a cooking class, either way it is a great way to spend time together.

9. Stargaze in your backyard

Totally free AND romantic. It is a win win!

10. See a baseball game

Maybe your significant other is not the biggest fan of baseball, but it is almost impossible to not have fun at a game. So, try it out!

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
