Summer Concerts At Bethel Woods In 2016

As many people of the Hudson Valley know, the summer season is not just spending days floating down the river or tending our farms on and off line. No, when the summer comes to town, so do the nights of great music spent at the site of Woodstock, Bethel Woods. Here is a list of upcoming artists and bands that if you have the time to go and see, you should.

1. Thursday, July 14, 2016 - Jason Aldean: Six String Circus Tour

Jason Aldean is known to put on a great show, as many of the artists on this list. Running from end to end of the stage and playing guitar, Jason will be able to see all of the fans in the first few rows of the stadium. Be prepared for a night spent on your feet yelling the words to his songs like "Tonight Looks Good on You" and "Gonna Know We Were Here".

2. Friday, July 15, 2016 - Beach Boys & The Temptations: Surf and Soul Tour

Surprise! Something that isn't country! I have seen the Beach Boys in concert before and I believe it to be one of the greatest concerts I have ever attended in my life. If you are into music from the 60s, then I highly recommend this concert for you. All of the songs that you know like "My Girl" by the Temptations and "Kokomo" by the Beach Boys, and many more, might be played at the concert while various size beach balls bounce around you in the setting sun. And also, Bethel could not have been a better place for this sort of concert to happen. Don't miss out on this!

3. Friday, July 22,2016 - Zac Brown Band: Black Out The Sun Tour

Most known for their "Chicken Fried" song, Zac Brown Band is coming to Bethel Woods soon and I am almost certain a few towns may shut down due to people going to this concert. Almost everyone that I have talked to love Zac Brown Band, why? Because the band is a part of the epitome of country music: it is the genre to listen to in the summer. (And the people who don't like the Zac Brown Band are the ones who aren't country music lovers.)

4. Saturday, July 30, 2016 - Heart with Joan Jett and the Blackhearts and Cheap Trick

Going back in time again, and out of the ordinary, the 80s bands, Heart, known for the song "Crazy On You" and "These Dreams" is teaming up with one of the coolest rockers, Joan Jett. I think this would a great trip to the past. This is the time that our parents grew up in and to see what it would have been like to see a concert then would be so cool. This is the concert for you if you love Rock n' Roll as much as I do.

5. Thursday, August 4, 2016 - Toby Keith: Interstates and Tailgates

I know for certain there will be a town or two shut down this night, even if it is a Thursday. Toby Keith is definitely the biggest country act on Bethel's lineup this year. From his songs for the men and women who serve our country to his songs about Red Solo Cups, Toby Keith will most definitely draw a crowd on whatever night at whatever place. I can already here the crowd screaming the words to his song "Courtesy Of the Red White and Blue" and, of course, "Red Solo Cup." Definitely not going to miss this.

6. Sunday, August 7, 2016 - Pitbull: The Bad Man Tour

The Miami native, Pitbull, will be finally making his way to our neck of the woods in August; Pitbull is known for his singles that make you feel as if you are dancing on the beach in Miami. The local radio station, K104, has been promoting this concert and has been giving out chances to win tickets to this concert. I can not wait to see how "Mr. Worldwide" will turn Bethel into a makeshift Miami for a night. Dale!

7. Sunday, August 14, 2016 - Darius Rucker: The Good For A Good Time Tour

Darius Rucker started his fame in the band Hoodie and the Blowfish, but once he came solo and released the song "Wagon Wheel", Darius was warmly welcomed into the country genre world. And I bet the same will happen when he steps foot onto the Bethel Wood stage. A little birdie has told me that one of the new up in-coming country duos that will be opening up for him will be Dan+Shay. Dan+Shay are known for the song "From the Ground Up" which is the number one wedding song at the moment and the duo has been climbing the charts with their album "Obsessed".

And if none of these events "make your fancy", Bethel also has movie nights scheduled, movies like the Breakfast Club and Back to the Future, as well as some comic acts like Jim Gaffigan. And even if you don't like those ideas, you can go visit the museum Bethel has put together for one of the greatest musical events ever to occur in history, Woodstock.

10 Thoughts Of A 5th Year Senior

What about those of us who don't do it all in four years?

"College will be the best four years of your life" is a phrase that we have all heard growing up. College is painted as a magical place to us while we are in high school. A place you go to learn, meet your best friends and probably have the time of your life while all of this is going down. Four whirlwind years, where everything that you've known changes and you start to learn what it means to live on your own, have a job, etc. But what about those of us who don't do this all in four years? Major changes, hard courses, switching schools, career paths changing, these are just a handful of factors that could extend your four years to five, six or seven. There is nothing wrong with taking extra time to graduate, but returning as a fifth-year is a little different. Most of your best friends have most likely graduated and moved and while you may be one of the oldest undergraduates on campus, you might feel as awkward as a freshmen. A world that became home and comfortable to you is still there but it's slightly different than you've known it to be and you have to find a groove to fall into. These are thoughts you'll have as you look ahead to returning to your college campus, with a victory lap planned.

11 Times Aubrey Plaza Described Sophomore Year

"I don't want to do things. I want to do not things."

Aubrey Plaza is one of my favorite humans in Hollywood. She's honest, blunt, unapologetic, and hilarious. I just started my sophomore year of college, and found that some of her best moments can accurately describe the start of the school year.

1. When your advisor tells you that you should declare a major soon.

2. Seeing the lost and confused freshmen and remembering that was you a short year ago, and now being grateful you know the ins and outs of the campus.

3. Going to the involvement fair to sign up for more clubs knowing that you are already too involved.

4. When you actually do the reading required for the first class.

5. Seeing your friends for the first time since last semester.

6. When you're already drowning in homework during syllabus week.

7. Realizing you don't have the same excitement for classes as you did as a freshman.

8. Going home and seeing people from high school gets weirder the older you get.
