If you're a native Wisconsinite drawing up intrepid plans for the upcoming summer, look no further! One of my favorite things to do in May is make a bucket list exclusively for summer, outlining the awesome adventures I'm looking forward to. However this year, I've asked my friends to also contribute to create a massive summer bucket list, perfect for anyone, but especially for those in Wisconsin. So without further ado, here's what we came up with...
1. Go paintballing
There would just be something fun about running through an arena playing paintball. Better yet, its preparation for a future apocalypse...
2. Spend a day at Six Flags
Milwaukee is only 2 hours away from a Six Flags location in Gurnee, Illinois, meaning that if there's ever a nice summery day, Six Flags is the place to be.
3. Open a lemonade stand
Ah, childhood memories. Nothing is more satisfying than having a successful lemonade stand, especially because teenagers need every penny they can get.
4. Plan a camping trip
Though camping isn't something I want to necessarily want to do, it's all the rage in Wisconsin. Especially because it's practically the only thing you can do once you enter the north woods.
5. Picnic on the Beach
Bradford beach might not be the best location in the world, especially since it's usually freezing, but Lake Michigan is simply gorgeous to look at. As an added bonus, you can see some ships leaving the marina.
6. Ride for the Arts
Ride for the Arts is a cycling marathon where all the profits go to benefiting the art community in Milwaukee. There are tons of different options for routes you can take, each involving different scenic views of Milwaukee.
8. Experience a concert at Summerfest
Summerfest is known as the world's largest music festival, and it's an amazing experience. With all the headlining artists, it's definitely not something anyone would want to miss.
9. Visit any of the local cultural festivals
Milwaukee is home to a plethora of different festivals celebrating different cultures like Festa Italiana, German Fest, Storm the Bastille and many more. These festivals are always so much fun, and they are a great way to immerse yourself in a new culture.
