Ever since birth, you have grown up spending your summers by the lake. Some people will spend their weekends at the lake while others will spend multiple weeks at the lake. Either way, there are certain things that one must do every summer to ensure that they will have the perfect summer. Everything you do during the summer and the friends you make is because the lake brought you together. And because of that, you will forever be a lake lover. To make sure you have the perfect summer by the lake and make the most friends, here is the summer bucket list for a true lake lover.

1. Spend your whole summer in a swimsuit. That way you are always ready to jump in the lake.

2. Become an Olympic tuber, skier, or wakeboard. Or try them all.

3. Learn how to sing every campfire song by heart.

4. Don't mind going to sleep with your hair smelling like a campfire because the lake water will wash it off in the morning.

5. Enjoy the sound of a summer rain and watch the storm.

6. Spend hours sitting on a boat and soaking up the sun.

7. Know the difference between port and starboard.

8. Learn how to sail from one side of the lake to the other.

9. Roast marshmallows and make s’mores with your squad.

10. Know that sleeping with sand in your bed means you had a good day.

11. Eat ice cream religiously. It is one of your main food groups in the summer.

12. Watching the sunset is your new favorite hobby. And watching the sunrise is a sign of a memorable night.

13. Know that running and jumping off the dock is the best form of entering the lake.

14. Especially if you are going skinny dipping at night.

15. Enjoy scavenger hunts and adventures.

16. Learn to love going kayaking and canoeing.

17. Watching the stars at night is the best form of a bedtime story. Look for those shooting stars and make a wish.

18. At least once a summer try to find the northern lights.

19. Watching fireworks is a must.

20. Go to the Forth of July Parade and dress up.

21. Go to the drive-in movie theatre and stay for the late night movie.

These 21 things will ensure that you have a summer you will never forget. I would recommend adding a few of your own items to the list, but remember that summer is only as fun as you make it. As exams start to get closer and the stress is building up, look to what is on the other side. Remember that after the exams and all the stress that you will once again be reunited with your lake. The one place that will forever be there for you. The place that has caused so many memories that you can't wait to make more memories. Just keep going, you are almost to your lake.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
