Many of our summer bucket lists will include trips to the beach, amusement parks, or even a summer romance. However, I hope that this summer is filled with moments that make you feel grateful to be alive. I hope that you find extreme joy in the tiniest of moments. Here's a list of things to do this summer that can make the next three months a time of extreme self love.

1. Watch the sunrise

Something so simple can be a great way to start your morning. Make sure it's a clear morning and you can see the sky turn different shades of orange and pink. Start your day thinking of things that you're thankful for.

2. Visit a local animal shelter or pet store.

Puppies... enough said.

3. Do something you've really wanted to do but was scared of what people would think.

Whether its a piercing, a new haircut, creating your own blog, or anything else you've wanted to do for a long time: nows the time to do it. If people are true friends, they will support what makes you happy.

4. Forgive

If theres someone who wronged you, try to find it in you to forgive them. Its easier said then done, but forgiveness can be the most relieving thing. It will free you.

5. Try something new

Writing down how you feel can be extremely therapuetic and help you express emotions that are harder to say out loud. If anything, write down things that happened that day that made you happy.

7. Find a locally owned shop to go to

Local farmers markets, boutiques, and art stores have many hidden gems that we often miss. Try checking one out!

8. Create a playlist, put your headphones in, and go for a walk.

Get your exercise and clear your head. Drown out the world and listen to some of your favorite songs.

Life is all about the relationships we make. Surround yourself with friends and family who make you feel good. Never take them for granted.

Everyone tells you that college is hard, but they fail to explain why. Sure, classes are hard. Math sucks, and political science can be so boring. But that's not even what's killing me about college. What's killing me about college is my deterioating mental health.

As a college student, I feel as if people don't understand just how exhausted I, and fellow college students are. We have so many things going on, all the time, and sometimes it's hard to explain to people how we feel. Personally...I'm tired. I'm sad. And I'm struggling every single day with my emotions. But the thing is, it hasn't always been this way. I haven't always hated school, so why am I feeling like this now?
