Summer Bucket List For A College Student

Being done with another semester of college is the best feeling in the world. You have a sense of accomplishment and you're ready to get summer vacation started! There's only one problem, what are you supposed to do with your time now that you don't have any classes? Here are a few ideas that might help you still have the sense of accomplishment and feel like you are using your time for good.

Get a summer job.

In order to do all of the items on this list you'll need money! Working a summer job will stil give you responsibility and hold you accountable. Plus, it will keep you used to getting up in the mornings and keep you spry for when school starts back up. You can get a job doing pretty much anything from mowing lawns, serving in a restaurant, or even working at a carwash.

Go to a concert.

You can jam out for a pretty affordable price if you buy your tickets early enough. You can see anyone from Brad Paisley to Journey! Take some friends and have a great time. Concerts are a good way to spend time with your friends and listen to some great music and, if you really want to, buy a VIP package and meet the artist or band you're going to see.

Take a road trip.

There is no better way to get somewhere than to take a road trip with your best friend. Half the fun of going somewhere a long way away is the trip there. You can make stops at fun stores and restaurants.

Go to the spa alone.

I know this sounds kind of lonely, but hear me out. A lot of people hate being alone (myself included,) but sometimes you just need some alone time. A time to be refreshed, renew your mind, and start clean. The spa is a great place to relax and have some peace.

Take a trip to the beach.

Don't forget to pack the sunscreen!

Go to an amusement or water park.

One great way to have fun and cool off this summer is to go to a waterpark! If you're looking for a bit of a thrill, you can go hop on a few rollercoasters at an amusement park. Be sure to bring some sunscreen!

Go to a drive-in movie with the girls.

Old school, I know, but it is still fun. You can get comfortable and have side conversations in the privacy of your own car without people around you shushing you. They aren't every where but the trip there can be just as fun.

Lay under the stars.

Appreciate God's creation.

Go camping.

Bug spray and s'mores are essential.

Go to the zoo.

This is the Memphis zoo and one of my favorite childhood memories. I cannot tell you how many times I have taken pictures sitting on the concrete stands of those animals. The zoo is perfect for any age to have fun! Make sure you hold your breath when you go by the elephant exibit!

Watch fireworks.

They're not just for the 4th of July!

Enjoy being home for the summer! Spend time with your friends and family and rest up for next semester. These are only some of the many things you can do while you are home! What can you add to this list?

18 Things I Want To Do Now That I'm 18

I'm technically an adult, so I'm legally required to live a little, right?

For the entirety of my high school career, I was always seen as the goody-two-shoes. I never got in trouble with a teacher, I kept stellar grades, and when I wasn't doing extracurricular activities, I was at home studying. Even when I did go out, it was usually with a bunch of fellow band geeks. The night would end before 11:00 PM and the only controversial activity would be a fight based on who unfairly won a round of Apples-to-Apples when someone else clearly had a better card (I promise I'm not still holding a grudge).

Now that I'm officially an adult, I want to pursue some new things. I want to experience life in a way that I never allowed myself to do prior to entering college. These are the years that I'm supposed to embark on a journey of self-discovery, so what better way to do that than to create a bucket list?
