One of the best parts about summer is all the adventures you can take. You know your city like the back of your hand, you've heard of the cool areas around that you've always said you'd visit but never have, and you don't have to worry about coming back in time to finish that paper. Summer is the window of freedom before we have to go back to school or find a real job. This bucket list is meant to help you make the most out of your summer! And though a lot of us work in the summer, these bucket list ideas can be done around your work schedule and you'll still have time to binge watch Netflix from time to time. College is one of the last times we will actually have a summer, so take all those times you wish you'd done more with your summer and do them all this year! You have no idea what you'll be doing next summer, so take the time you have now and experience your local town, your state, and even the country if you have time. Get out there and carpe that diem! Here are a few of the things you can add to your summer bucket list to ensure that you'll never be bored and you'll never forget summer 2016:

1. Eat at all my favorite places back home.

Literally my favorite thing to do in the summer

2. Get a real night's sleep in my own bed.

My other favorite thing to do in the summer

3. Cook something new.

If you're used to living in a college dorm with no access to a kitchen, put all those hours of binge watching Food Network to the test and make something new!

4. Go hiking on local trails.

Summer is all about exploring the great outdoors, so go for it!

5. Go kayaking.

Super fun and super adventurous!

6. Take a road trip to the closest National Park.

National Parks are a wonder in themselves, so take the time to appreciate them on a long summer day or weekend.

7. Go to the beach with my closest friends.

The typical summer trip, but for good reason. Soak up the sun and enjoy the saltwater

8. Plan something spontaneous.

Whether it's going for a day trip or a weekend at the beach, call up some of your friends and make it happen!

9. Check out a local watering hole.

Apparently there's one in every state, so find yours!

10. Find a local dive restaurant and eat there.

Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives had to have featured something near you if you can't think of one

11. Read that book you've been meaning to for the past year.

12. Take the time to really enjoy summer.

This can be anything, from watching Netflix all day to going on a daring trip. It's your summer and it's what you make of it, so do everything and anything you want!

Today I started my third week of college at Minnesota State Moorhead. I have survived welcome week, finding my classes on the first day, and being an awkward loner in the dining hall. Even though I have yet to be here for a month, I have already experienced many thoughts and problems that only a new college student can relate to.

"Make sure to get involved when you're in college!"

We've all heard some variation of this phrase, whether it came from parents, other family members, friends, RAs, or college-related articles. And, like many clichés, it's true for the most part. Getting involved during your college years can help you make friends, build your resume, and feel connected to your campus. However, these commitments can get stressful if you're dealing with personal issues, need to work, or aren't sure how to balance classes and everything else going on during the semester.

In college, one of the essential things to have is friends. Yes, textbooks, a laptop, and other school supplies are important but friends are essential. Friends are that support system everybody needs. The more friends you have the better the support system you have. But you also have someone to share experiences with. And don’t settle for just one or two friends because 8 out of 10 times they are busy and you are studying all alone. Or they have other friend groups that do not include you. Don’t settle for just one or two friends; make as many friends as you can. After the first couple of weeks of college, most friend groups are set and you may be without friends.

For a moment your world is spinning. The phone alarm has just scared you awake and you’re flooded by daunting thoughts of the day ahead. You have three assignments due and little time to work on them because of your job. You’re running late because you’ve hit snooze one to many times after yesterday’s long hours. You dizzily reach for a hoodie, craving its comfort, and rush for a speedy exit, praying you will have time to pick up coffee. Does this sound familiar?

Finals week is upon us. It is a magical time of year during which college students everywhere flock to the library in attempt to learn a semester's worth of knowledge in only a week. For some students, it's their first time in the library all semester, maybe ever. Others have slaved away many nights under the fluorescent lights, and are slightly annoyed to find their study space being invaded by amateurs. While these newbies wander aimlessly around the first floor, hopelessly trying to find a table, the OGs of the library are already on the third floor long tables deep into their studies. Here is a few signs that you may live in the library, whether you'd like to admit it or not.
