Summertime is a few short months where we always have a million things to do, yet never seem to get time to do them. Some people want to travel the world, start working out, spend more time with family, or go on adventures. Whatever your goal this summer is, here are some fun activities you may not have thought of to get your summer off to a good start.

1. Go to a concert/music festival

www.billboard.com

Summertime is a time for good friends and good music. Although some tickets are more expensive than others, there are a million concerts that take place during the summer that missing out on going to at least one or two would be a mistake. Theres even free ones too so not having money is no excuse!

2. Go to the beach

The sun, some sand and the wide open ocean can only make for an amazing day. Make sure you bring sunscreen and a few cold drinks and simply grab some friends and drive up to the beach for a relaxing day in life.

3. Go camping

Drive out with a bunch of friends and set up a text (outside), make some smores, tell some stories and do some stargazing. It seems simple and maybe a bit boring for those who aren't entranced with nature but camping, especially with friends can be surprisingly amazing.

4. Watch the sunrise

Whether its over a giant hill, over the ocean or just from your backyard, sunsets in the summertime are stunning and chilling and watching a few set down is a must.

5. Visit a local farmers market

Support your local businesses and head over to a farmers market sometime instead of the grocery store. Fresh foods and good company provided.

6. Go to the zoo

Zoos are NOT just for little kids. Take the train to the the city and check out the zoo. Maybe you'll find a new favorite animal! And since youre already there, grab some dinner in the city with friends for a superior day!

7. Go to a drive in movie

Drive in movies are the oldie but goodie of the movie industry and it is by no means just a place for lovers. Grab your loved ones and drive up to the screen to see one of your favorite or a newbie.

8. Hammocking

Pick your favorite spot with two trees (or any two objects you can attach a hammock to) and set up a hammock. This one is relaxing with or without others and can be done in a million and one different places.

9. Have a picnic

Pack up your favorites and head out to a park or beach or forest and chow down with loved ones (or yourself).

10. Go berry picking

One of my favorites; drive up to an orchard and fill a bucket with delicious, fresh berries. Of course you have to sneak a few while the picking is being done !

11. Go on a road trip

With friends or by yourself, hop in and cruise. Go somewhere you've only freamed of. Stop at a waterpark or national park along the way. Just pick a destination and go.

12. Try new things

blog.internetcreations.com

This one sounds cliche, but summer truly is the time to live it up and try something you've never done before. We are all scared to try new things and get out of our comfort zones but a lot of the times it is so worth it and we find something new that we love.

13. Have fun!

Last but most certainly not least, have fun. Enjoying your summer one of the most important things to do because summer comes and goes quicker than anyone ever wants. Make sure you give yourself some time to relax and play and be yourself because as we know, summer doesn't last forever.

Summer comes and goes but the memories are forever. Make this summer the best yet and try new things that you never even dreamed of doing. Oftentimes those are the things we end up loving the most. Be yourself, live large and make each summer one to remember.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
