Summer Bucket List: 2015

The time has come. The much anticipated summer of 2015 is almost here. After the stressful spring semesters that most of us have had, summer could not sound any better right now. Other than finals (yay, finals…ha ha), summer is one of the main things on most of our minds. All we can think about is the lovely beaches, summer romances, good music, relaxing days, fun nights, and don't even get me started on the food. I mean, crawfish, watermelon, barbecues, lemonade, and fun frozen drinks, my mouth is watering at the thought. When we think of summer, these things are usually the first to come to mind. Something else that comes to mind: summer bucket lists. What's summer without a summer bucket list, right? Completely cheesy or absolutely crazy, here's to the summer bucket list of 2015.

  1. Go on a road trip. It's not summer without a road trip, duh.
  2. Spend a whole day watching old movies. Suggestions: Dirty Dancing, Breakfast at Tiffany's, The Breakfast Club.
  3. Participate in an eating contest. This is not a joke. Imagine if you won, it'd be iconic.
  4. Kiss someone in the rain. Because why not. It looks fun in movies.
  5. Make homemade ice cream. Okay, yum.
  6. Go to the beach. Lucky for me, I live thirty minutes away from an amazing beach. Some people do not have that luxury, so make it happen. Get yourself to the beach.
  7. Go to a concert. Whether it's a music festival, or a small band at a local music joint, you've got the see some live music one way or another.
  8. Go a week without social media. This allows you to have some really amazing adventures, while really enjoying the company you are with.
  9. Pick a “Summer 2015" song. If you need any ideas, follow ya girl on Spotify (“Ya girl" = me).
  10. “Get lost" in your hometown. How well do you know where you live? Keep driving until you have no idea where you are. You'll never know what you'll find.
  11. Go camping in your back yard. Add some friends and have a great time.
  12. Take a picture everyday. Do it, I dare you.
  13. Watch a drive-thru movie. Surprisingly, drive through movies are making a come back. Find one near you and enjoy.
  14. Work out. Yes, college makes you gain a little weight. Everyone knows it. It's mixture of eating badly and not having any time to work out. So use your extra time to make yourself look good and feel even better.
  15. Make s'mores. Having some friends over and building a little fire, s'cute.
  16. Have a paint fight. You're never too old to participate in a paint fight, right?
  17. Bake a really cool cake. Like a Cake Boss cake, you know? Make a really cool cake, admire it for a day or two, then eat it.
  18. Read a good book. Some might say, “No, gross, a book?", but really, when else would you have time to do this. Be thankful for your spare time and read something really, really good.
  19. Watch a sunrise and a sunset with your favorite person. Enjoy your free time with some good company.
  20. Make a really cool fort. Again, you're never too old to make a really cool fort.
  21. Carve your name into a tree. Pick your favorite place, find your favorite tree, and just go for it. You'll be able to come back to it for summers to come.
  22. Visit a zoo. During the summer, they always have really cute baby animals. Trust me on this one.
  23. Send a message in a bottle. It's super cool, and maybe your message will be lucky enough to make it's way to a person.
  24. Go skinny dipping. If you want. It's always a good time, though.
  25. Star gaze. It's fun, I swear.
  26. Have a water balloon war. Okay, yes.
  27. Go on a not so typical date. Go on a date with a person you enjoy spending time with. Do something cool and unusual. You won't regret it.
  28. Learn something new. Have you ever wanted to learn how to do something but never had the time? Now is your chance!
  29. Dance on a golf course at night. Whether you have music or not, just go for it.
  30. Be a tourist in your home town. Seriously, this is so fun. Pretend you've never been there before. Who knows, you may find something so amazing, that you had no idea ever existed.
  31. Be a best friend. The best way to be a best friend is to just be there for someone. Simple as that.
  32. Pull a legendary prank. I'll leave this for you to decide on.
  33. Do a good deed. This could be as simple as paying for someone's dinner in the fast food line behind you. It will seriously make their day, and it will make yours, too.
  34. Make every second count. Have no regrets. At the end of the summer, you'll look back and remember that the summer of 2015 was the best one yet. Make memories that will last you, for summers to come.

If I have learned one thing in my lifetime, it is that friends are a privilege. No one is required to give you their company and yet there is some sort of shared connection that keeps you together. And from that friendship, you may even find yourself lucky enough to have a few more friends, thus forming a group. Here are just a few signs that prove your current friend group is the ultimate friend group.

When it comes to television, there’s very few sets of on-screen siblings that a lot of us can relate to. Only those who have grown up with siblings knows what it feels like to fight, prank, and love a sibling. Ross and Monica Geller were definitely overbearing and overshared some things through the series of "Friends," but they captured perfectly what real siblings feel in real life. Some of their antics were funny, some were a little weird but all of them are completely relatable to brothers and sisters everywhere.

Her sister was a member, her mom was a member, all of her aunts were members, and her grandma was a member. She has been waiting her whole life to wear these letters and cried hysterically on bid day. Although she can act entitled at times, you can bet she is one of the most enthusiastic sisters.

Every kid in college and/or high school dreams of summer the moment they walk through the door on the first day back in September. It becomes harder and harder to focus in classes and while doing assignments as the days get closer. The winter has been lagging, the days are short and dark, and no one is quite themselves due to lack of energy and sunlight. Let's face it: life is ten times better in the summertime.
