Summer Break As Told by 'Friends'

The long-awaited summer vacation has finally arrived, and you're more than ready to soak up some sun, catch up with your home friends and simply enjoy four months free from all schoolwork. Your family will be thrilled to see you. Being away at school has given you a newfound appreciation for an easygoing life at home...or so you thought. Sooner than later you'll be itching to get back to school. Here's how the process usually goes:

1. Trying to move everything back into your room at home was a lot harder than you thought it was going to be.

2. But even if it is a mess, having a room to yourself has never felt better (although it might be hard to get used to).

4. Driving your car for the first time in months is beyond exciting, but you may have lost your touch, just a little bit.

5. Being home means real food, and you can't help but take advantage of that.

6. As much as your parents missed you while you were away at school, they're probably starting to get sick of seeing you on the couch 24/7.

7. And maybe your summer job search isn't going as planned, so they're probably not too happy about that either.

8. When you finally get to see your friends, you can't contain yourself.

9. And you start talking about all of the fun things you're going to do together this summer...

10. Until you remember that without a job, you're completely broke.

11. You start to regret all of the dumb things you spent your money on at school.

12. But this only makes you think of how much fun you had doing those fun things, and you start to miss your friends.

13. Only three and a half months until you see them again!

New year, new semester, not the same old thing. This semester will be a semester to redeem all the mistakes made in the previous five months.

1. I will wake up (sorta) on time for class.

Let's face it, last semester you woke up with enough time to brush your teeth and get to class and even then you were about 10 minutes late and rollin' in with some pretty unfortunate bed head. This semester we will set our alarms, wake up with time to get ready, and get to class on time!

And so it begins.

1. Walk in motivated and ready to rock

Camping out at the library is not for the faint of heart. You need to go in as a warrior. You usually have brought supplies (laptop, chargers, and textbooks) and sustenance (water, snacks, and blanket/sweatpants) since the battle will be for an undetermined length of time. Perhaps it is one assignment or perhaps it's four. You are motivated and prepared; you don’t doubt the assignment(s) will take time, but you know it couldn’t be that long.
