Its the moment we’ve all been waiting for. The days we’ve been counting down to finally reach this point. It’s finally time to sit back, relax, sleep late, not have nothing to worry about, and enjoy the warm summer days. Just spending your day lounging about, sleeping until noon, binge watching Netflix because I’m sure you have a lot to catch up on. Nothing can compare to this…except you have been doing this for pretty much the whole summer. Summer boredom is something we’ve all been through. Whether it’s sitting on your bed at home and having nothing to do, watching television all day, scrolling through your social media accounts within five minute intervals, or just sleeping all day.

A kid sitting in front of a computer all day is not enjoying what summer has to offer. I’m sure since one is off from school they don’t want to do much, but wouldn’t you want to look back and think to yourself that you had a good summer, rather than thinking back and realizing all you did was sleep, eat, and watch Netflix? We all want to have something to do over the summer so we don’t get bored because believe it or not being bored can be stressful to a person.

The only thing they can do is sit, watch television, walk around the house, maybe go on the computer and then back to sitting. It can be a pattern of yours. Nobody wants to live through a boring summer especially after all those stressful months of school. Summer time is the time for fun. There is so much you can do that summer has to offer. There’s jet-skiing, sky-diving, maybe go on cruise or something.

While most people wanting to enjoy summer may be on a budget there are other inexpensive ways to enjoy the day like bike riding, going to parks, trying to be active, enjoy the weather, and sight-see, or going to the beach with friends. If you’re a big fan of music there are always free concerts going on in the park. Yes ,I said free, all you have to do is Google it and you’ll be amazed with what goes on. If you’re not into big crowds which most concerts tend to have, there are always other events going on. (Which you can also Google.)

With so many things to do over the summer there shouldn’t be a reason for you to have “summer boredom." Summer times are known for barbecues, so have one! Spending time with family can be nice as well. It’s your summer and it’s your choice on how you want to spend it but, don’t complain to others that you're bored -- especially if that person is your mom because you won’t get the answer you want.

You want to make your summer memorable. So when that dreadful time of back to school come along (just kidding), you can share your stories with all your friends and peers about what an incredible summer you had. So instead of watching your friends on Snapchat enjoying their summer, go out there and have fun yourself. There's a story you can always have with you. I’m sure you don’t want to be the one that says “I was home watching Netflix.” But hey if you enjoyed spending your entire summer doing that, then that’s cool.

You should set a goal for yourself to have a good summer, so that when the vacation sadly ends you’ll be ready to take on a new school year knowing you spent your time off well. So don’t let yourself get bored over the summer. Get up and do something fun.

Hope everyone has a wonderful summer!

P.S. For those of you who have/are taking summer classes I wish you the best of luck. Just keep your head up high and you’ll get through it. Hopefully in the end it’ll be worth it.

In honor of Mother’s Day, I have been thinking of all the things my mom does for my family and me. Although I couldn’t write nearly all of them, here are a few things that moms do for us.

They find that shirt that’s right in front of you, but just you can’t seem to find.

10 Reasons To Thank Your Best Friend

Take the time to thank that one friend in your life you will never let go of.

Thank You on wooden blocks

1. Thank you for being the one I can always count on to be honest.

A true friend will tell you if the shirt is ugly, or at least ask to borrow it and "accidentally" burn it.

2. Thank you for accepting me for who I am.

A best friend will love you regardless of the stale french fries you left on the floor of your car, or when you had lice in 8th grade and no one wanted to talk to you.

Do as I say, not as I do.

Your eyes widen in horror as you stare at your phone. Beads of sweat begin to saturate your palm as your fingers tremble in fear. The illuminated screen reads, "Missed Call: Mom."

Growing up with strict parents, you learn that a few things go unsaid. Manners are everything. Never talk back. Do as you're told without question. Most importantly, you develop a system and catch on to these quirks that strict parents have so that you can play their game and do what you want.

"Friends" maybe didn’t have everything right or realistic all the time, but they did have enough episodes to create countless reaction GIFs and enough awesomeness to create, well, the legacy they did. Something else that is timeless, a little rough, but memorable? Living away from the comforts of home. Whether you have an apartment, a dorm, your first house, or some sort of residence that is not the house you grew up in, I’m sure you can relate to most of these!
