Summer is just around the corner and we all cannot wait to hit the beach. Unfortantly, summer can cause some damage to skin and hair. After researching different blogs, magazines and Pintrest, I found many tips to take care of your body this summer.

1. Sunscreen and Aloe lotion

Obviously sunscreen is the most important lotion to have in the summer. When outside it is important to keep reapplying your sunscreen. When picking out a sunscreen, get one with a SPF higher then 30. SPF 30+ will block out 97% of the sun's harmful rays that can cause sunburn and eventually can cause skin cancer. Aloe is important to use when sunburn occurs. It cools down the skin and can help it go away faster.

2. Switch your makeup

In the summer is best to switch out some of your makeup. Foundation should be switched for BB cream. It also can be switched for a tinted moisturizer. They are a lot lighter than foundation and will look clean and light for the beach. Swap out lipsticks for glosses or tinted lip balms. Tinted balms and glosses look better with summer looks because its not heavy, dark and thick. Matte lipsticks are beautiful but for the summer it would look too heavy. The top summer lip colors are pinks, corals, oranges, and nudes.

3. Use olive oil to keep hair blonde

Pools ruin blonde hair. Lathering it up with olive oil before going in the pool can keep it from turning green. Make sure to rinse out the oil and pool water from your hair after swimming. Colder water will also keep your hair shiny.

4. Self tanner can be fixed with baking soda

Self tanner is a good option for people who want to avoid the sun for heath reasons. The problem with self tanner is that it can become blotchy or look very orange. To fix those blotches mix baking soda with water and apply with a loofah. it is also recommended to test out different tanner to make sure you pick the right one for your natural skin tone.

5. Use primer

Summer = sweat. To keep makeup from sweating off use primer. Some people tend not to wear as much makeup in the summer but if you do, a primer is key. Especially on the eyes.

6. Keep your hair in a braid

With summer heat, it's natural to want to keep your hair up to avoid sweat. Keeping your hair in a tight pony tail or bun can cause breakage. Loose braids will keep the sweat away without causing any hair damage.

7. Use sea salt spray

Beach waves are the perfect look for summer. To save a lot of time and heat damage to hair use a sea salt spray after the shower to get those beach waves. They sell sea salt sprays at any drugstore but there are also many DIY sprays on Pintrest to follow.

It's very important to take care of your skin and hair in the summer. Enjoy these tips and hacks for summer beauty.

New year, new semester, not the same old thing. This semester will be a semester to redeem all the mistakes made in the previous five months.

1. I will wake up (sorta) on time for class.

Let's face it, last semester you woke up with enough time to brush your teeth and get to class and even then you were about 10 minutes late and rollin' in with some pretty unfortunate bed head. This semester we will set our alarms, wake up with time to get ready, and get to class on time!

And so it begins.

1. Walk in motivated and ready to rock

Camping out at the library is not for the faint of heart. You need to go in as a warrior. You usually have brought supplies (laptop, chargers, and textbooks) and sustenance (water, snacks, and blanket/sweatpants) since the battle will be for an undetermined length of time. Perhaps it is one assignment or perhaps it's four. You are motivated and prepared; you don’t doubt the assignment(s) will take time, but you know it couldn’t be that long.
