If you love survival stories, this book is for you. Ten wealthy, privileged vacationers along with a painter board a flight from Martha's Vineyard to New York. Suddenly tragedy strikes and the plane crashes into the Atlantic Ocean. The survivors include the painter and a four-year-old boy, the only survivor of an incredibly powerful family. The stories of the deceased along with the struggle to survive combined with the aftermath of the crash makes for an edge of your seat read.
"Gone Girl" by Gillian Flynn
Even if you've already seen the critically acclaimed film, read this novel. Rated as thriller of the year in 2012, The New York Times Best Seller is a suspenseful mystery that will leave you anxiously turning the pages. Nick Dunne's wife, Amy, has disappeared into thin air and the troubling aspects of their marriage come to light during her disappearance. "Girls In White Dresses" by Jennifer Close
