Personal Blog

I made a playlist for warm weather a while ago, but summer keeps getting closer and closer and my weekends are starting to fill with more summer activities like going to the beach, eating out, and other fun shenanigans. So in honor of freedom being that much closer, here's a few songs from up-and-coming or relatively unknown artists that you should know that will get you itching for summer that much more.

1. Craving by James Bay

A song all about craving- I think we can all relate to craving summer and the stress free life that comes with it. You can never go wrong with a James Bay song in your playlist.

2. Guru by Coast Modern

I had heard this song a while ago, and a friend reintroduced it to me recently and I forgot how good and unique Coast Modern is. Definitely give this song a go because when they get big you'll be able to be THAT person who says you knew them from the start.

3. Another Sad Love Song by Khalid

Khalid has been blowing up this past month and has a bright future ahead. I actually got to see him perform live and meet him a couple of weeks ago, and he sounds just as good live, maybe better!

4. Still Feel Like Your Man by John Mayer

This song is a fairly new sound for John Mayer, I haven't heard anything else quite like it by him. It's a perfect song for the chill, windows down car ride.

5. 4EVER! by LANY

LANY is coming out with their debut album in June, but this song along with their others that are already released are great for beach days and city adventures.

6. Sun Shy by Dresses

Though this song is four years old, the sound and pump-up, feel-good vibes don't get old. Dresses nailed the essence of summer fun.

I'm serious

There are tons of unisex names that are popular: Taylor, Alex, Bailey, etc. There are also numerous names that are used for both sexes, but they’re not seen as “unisex” yet. People are slowly becoming accustomed to the dual use of these names, but for the most part, in their minds they associate certain names with certain sexes. And that leaves those of us with these names in many awkward situations.

I'm an anthropology major, and I love every minute of it. I couldn't tell you why, but I guess there's just something about studying different lifestyles that absolutely fascinates me. But anthropology majors definitely have our weird sides, especially when you go to a school that is filled with mostly Business and Bio majors. But us weirdos definitely have a lot in common, specifically these 16 things.

pale girl

Everyone has insecurities, that's just a fact. You didn't ask to be born this way. You didn't ask to inherit the one trait no one else in your family has. And you definitely didn't ask to be this ghostly white. But as soon as you've learned to live with it for a while (less wrinkles later on in life, right? right???) someone has to ruin it for you. They have to flaunt they're perfectly tanned body from Spring Break and hold their sun-kissed skin against yours. But I've had enough... here are the things that perpetually pale individuals are tired of hearing.

music sheet

Being a music major is not all kicks and giggles. In fact, there are days when I question my sanity and doubt myself as a musician. I know I am not the only one going through the struggle, and so here are 13 GIFs that I know my fellow music majors can relate to...
